"Hospitable. Nice attention to clients' needs"
We were so happy to stay at the Mountain Brook Lidge. Al was so exuberant and went out of his way to be sure that his guests were satisfied. The motel is located in a perfect location for Whiteface Mountain hiking as well as some lovely local sights. We visited both the Whiteface summit and a covered bridge in close by Jay, NY. The town of Lake Placid is a short drive away. Al suggested our eating at the Wilderness Inn. We followed his suggestion and it was delicious!

"Nice hotel. Believes in protecting the environment"
Yes...not changing the sheets and towels every day makes good business sense. I think it was quite clever that they sold it as a water saving measure. Which it is. If they are really using a million less gallons of water per year by giving guests the OPTION to use towels more than once, then good for them. Saving energy with a roof full of plants and grass is a good idea as well. But being environmentally friendly does not make a hotel great. The service here was excellent. House keeping did a great job. The attached restaurant serves excellent food. The pool was nice. The hot tubs were actually hot. And as nice as the hotel is, it is not expensive. We stayed in a room with 2 queen size beds, a fridge, coffee maker, free Wi-Fi, television for under $200 per night. The Golden Arrow is a great place to stay.

"Great choice for families"
A very nice place reasonably priced. We stayed two nights in standard rooms. We found plenty to do right on site. All the amenities are above average for this price range, and everything in the park is spotlessly clean. Our youngsters loved the creative playground. I was impressed that when my son left his wallet in the game room, it was turned in very quickly and we were notified by phone that it was waiting for him at the desk.

"Great selection for the budget minded. "
We stayed during a busy weekend yet the rooms were quiet and sufficient. Even though it's not that new it was well kept. The climate control worked well heating the room up well which was nice considering it was a bit chilly that weekend. Washroom was addequite. Staff were nice and accommodating as we had a late check in. Nice rustic charm to the exterior of the building.

Ironically, the town of Lake Placid rests on Mirror Lake, not Lake Placid. That’s perfectly ok, however, as Mirror Lake is a prime spot for all types of visitors, including pets.

If the water is warm, Fido is more than welcome to swim with you in the depths. You’ll also see some locals kayaking with their pooch in tow. Just remember a little doggie life jacket in case you topple over. Not to worry if Button prefers to be on land. You and your pooch can walk around the 4 km-long trails near the lake to see the sights and mingle with other pet owners. If you’d like something a little further away from the crowds at the lake, try out John Brown Farm State Historic Site. The farm features a small wooded hiking area just outside of the historic landmark, perfect for a stroll. Just remember to pick up after your pet as you make your way along the pathway. After all of your playing, swimming, and hiking, you could probably use a break. Instead of heading back your pet-friendly hotel in Lake Placid straight away, venture from the farm to some bakeries on Main Street. Several sweet shops allow you to eat with your pet on the outdoor patios.

Another thing that’s sweet? The great deal you can find on your pick of hotels in Lake Placid from Expedia. We only spotlight the steepest discounts on rooms and suites, including pet-friendly spots, within the city. Find the perfect hotel for you and Fido for a vacation you won’t soon forget.
