Boasting spectacular views of the world-famous Banderas Bay to the west, where you can see migrating whales in winter; the Sierra Madre Mountains to the east; and the terra cotta rooftops of the charming city all around, Casa Ciclamor is nestled high above the narrow cobblestone streets of the oldest part of Puerto Vallarta, also known as Old Town Vallarta. You’ll immediately feel the essence of a former fishing town, a unique and secret place nestled between the Pacific and the Sierra Madre Mountains. Inside the home, you’ll find Serrana-style architecture, which incorporates contemporary materials and construction systems with a rustic and traditional look, resulting in a thoroughly modern yet colonial feeling. Sloping clay-tile roofs, exposed brick walls, domes, arches, narrow, vertical windows with balconies, plus the use of wood for beams, doors, and shutters all lend the villa a truly spectacular atmosphere. The main living space is fully open to the outside, and the living room looks out over the mountains, coastline, your private pool, and lush landscaping. Several comfortable seating areas offer TVs as well, but you’ll be too distracted by the view. With your in-home chef preparing one meal a day, you won’t have to worry much about cooking, but if you do want to make a snack, the full, spacious kitchen offers plenty of room. When you venture out from your villa, you’re just a six-minute walk to Gringo Gulch and only a few blocks from the beach, and the staff can help you navigate the city or any other attractions you’d like to see. At the end of the day, four bedrooms await up the spiral staircase. Three of the four have en suite bathrooms, and two offer oceanfront views of their own. With a setting this spectacular and all of Puerto Vallarta at your doorstep, the only question left is how many extra days to add to your stay. THINGS TO KNOW Villa staff works every day from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Guests can have one meal prepared for them per day (breakfast, lunch, or dinner). Please coordinate which you would like at check-in. Pita, the staff member, can accommodate meals to your preference. Pita will buy groceries on your behalf and prepare the meal of your choice. Cash receipt only for ingredients. Laundry service is available free of charge. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 1 vehicle. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 21 years of age to book. The house is open air, but has AC in the rooms. Staff on property are so nice and very helpful and responsive. Location in in the heart of the Zona Romantica and we loved that. Biggest problem is that once you book the house, communication with the property manager is extremely difficult and frustrating. We were trying to put in a request for some groceries and the first meal, and the property manager insisted that the house didn’t serve food. She would not read the listing to see it came with a cook, And she certainly didn’t know it. On another occasion we asked for the address to arrange transportation, and again, very difficult to get a response.I would book this house again but it’s helpful to know Vicasa Property management is terrible, but don’t lose faith in the house. I was really nervous about what we had rented because of all the problems with Vicasa, but it was a great house once we got there. Also Vicasa doesn’t give you any check in info until after 5pm the day before. This is frustrating if you are trying to coordinate with a group of people about how to get in. ##### Elaine M. Location was great and the rooms were nice too. Every room has a bathroom which was great as one downstairs. One of the rooms had issues with some lizards so the girls had to stay in other rooms because they kept coming back and couldn’t sleep with lizards crawling on the ceiling. Keep in mind that this place has kind of an open concept so you’ll see some critters. Another thing that got to me, when they said private chef I wish they would say what meals. We wanted to plan our reservations ahead and I asked SEVERAL times how this process worked and couldn’t get an answer. When we checked in we were so hungry and were expecting dinner and we got chips and guac. I also wish we knew we had to pay cash for ingredients. I was thinking we could pay with card or if it was a separate fee to pay on top. Breakfast was great but a heads up would have been appreciated. The ladies at the property were nice too. They cleaned up after us every day. ##### Diana H. We couldn't have been happier with this beautiful home on the hill in Zona Romantica! Terrific views, outstanding and friendly staff (including a fabulous chef) and walking distance to restaurants, the Maricon, the beautiful church, etc. (note: steep walk).
