It certainly has some positives, but in general I would not rate this as not at the usual Hilton level.
Positives
* The views from the common areas, lobby, beach, etc are beautiful. The view is limited by palm trees from your room however, depending on which floor you're on.
* The staff is very helpful and accommodating, especially towards young kids. I never felt that a tip was expected or required although we always did.
* Food was great! There are several dining options and all of them offered great meals, even for kids. The Asian themed restaurant is for kids 12 and up.
Negatives
ATM- There are two on the property, one for dollars and one for pesos. The downside is that we were needing pesos for tipping purposes and the lowest denomination was $200 pesos.
Shuttle- Doesn't exist... the rather removed location would make a shuttle to the airport, downtown, or to shopping a great idea.
Check In- Traveling as a family (2 parents and 2 young kids) we are always looking for "family friendly" resorts. When I checked us in I was told that we would be in the "family tower" on the 2nd floor and that this would be a "loud" floor. We decided to try it, and the only other option was an upgrade for an extra $87 a night. For some reason the family tower overlooks the adults only pool!
Property Cleanliness- The common areas, besides the lobby, just looked tired, dirty and used. Dead bugs were common throughout the hallways... as in the same dead bugs in the same place for days.
