This B&B is a beautifully updated modern property. We loved the homemade breakfasts, and Bertha was an amazing host! Loved the back patio, fireplace, and glass of wine to welcome us. Our room was in front, and had a water view. Great recommendations for the local food and wineries and unique shops to visit in the area. Loved our stay and when we ever visit NOTL again we will be staying here for sure. Bertha is a wonderful host and very helpful. The room, dining area and outdoor space were all beautiful and recently upgraded without loosing the old charm of the 200yr old house. The breakfast Bertha serves each morning is amazing, homemade and very unique (we went to some fancy restaurants during our stay but the breakfasts were right up there). You can walk up the street to the main are of NOTL and also right next to Fort George. It's a quiet and cozy without being far away from the action. The host was lovely! She made two simply scrumptious breakfasts for us both mornings. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The manor is in walking distance to the shopping, theater and a quick walk down to wonderful views of the lake. It was very nice, but I thought a bit expensive for a small room with only one armchair. The only window was behind the headboard. I was able to open it, but could not open the shutters that covered it—really obstructed view. In the event of a fire, if the hallway had been full of smoke, the only way to get out of that window would have been to move the wooden queen-sized bed. I would never have chosen that room. The house manager was lovely, and the breakfasts were good. It would have been nice to have access to ice and an ice bucket. Actually, my fault. I should have called in the reservation myself rather than using Expedia.
