"This is an older property but it’s in fantastic shape. The rooms are evocative of old-style timber lodges, not sleek or super modern but absolutely clean, comfortable and certainly charming. My wife and I stayed in Estes for a couple of days to pick our son up from camp and we would certainly return here next time we need to do so. The location is also perfect — close enough to downtown Estes without being in the hustle and bustle of all the tourists."

"Discovery Lodge is a nice home base for visiting Estes, with a quick drive to the park. It's located near the free trolley, which is worth checking out in advance to better plan your trip. Breakfast could definitely use improvements, and make sure to shop for water at the grocery store (nearby) in case their dispenser is not working. The rooms & beds were clean and comfortable, and view from the back balcony/ windows is beautiful. During the fall, elk are EVERYWHERE! This trip was my 4th time to stay here. There are breweries, shops and restaurants closer into town- a trolley ride, longer walk or short drive. The Stanley was nice, but if you're visiting within two hours of closing they might be shutting down all around you. "
