Spend the day exploring the 2.7 Km stretch of beach on foot or bike, and gather your friends to watch the sunset from the comfort of the indoors or the spacious outdoor terrace. Make the Surfside Lodge your go-to spot for a beachside escape! Chesterman Beach is large and flat, with firm beach sand, unlike many beaches. With firm sand, it's perfect for walking, running, or riding a bike. Surfside Lodge is a bright, fresh surffront location nestled perfectly in an old-growth forest with a direct opening on the "surfside" to the wide-open beauty of the Pacific Ocean. The upper-level open floor plan is equipped with a gourmet kitchen complete with all you need to cook your favorites. The living room has spacious seating and a gas fireplace- perfect for après cocktails or game night. The large dining area offers sliding doors to a large outdoor terrace complete with a gas BBQ. The upper level hosts the master bedroom with a king-size bed and full bathroom, all this overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The second bedroom on the lower level includes a sitting area, a large flat-screen TV and 2 twin beds. On the lower level, the third room has a king-size bed and sliding doors to the outside deck/boardwalk leading out to the hot tub and ocean. The 3rd-floor lookout houses a small nook for reading, working, or simply watching the surf. The ground floor outdoor decking is complete with a lit boardwalk to get you safely to the hot tub and beach, day or night. Being right on the beach was amazing. The views from upstairs and deck were fantastic. It was nice to be walking distance to food places (Hotel Zed, Wildside Grill, Tacofino, Tofitian Cafe). Other family members made great use of the hot tub and sauna and also did some surfing.The house is very well set up for a family like ours with three generations staying together, with grandparents, parents, children and dogs.Only one suggestion I might have is that having a family with a young child and a dog that are escape artists a gate on both the beach and road sides would have brought us more peace of mind. ##### Dawn M. We planned the trip with family and were really looking forward to being on the beach in Tofino. We can't even begin to describe how much the Surfside Lodge exceeded out expectations. First of all the location couldn't be better - right on the beach with a gorgeous view of the water. The property has everything you need including a hot tub, sauna, firepit and chairs by the water and a terrific sand/mud room to keep things neat. The bedrooms and baths are lovely and the decor is comfortable and clean. The hosts were helpful and left us gifts for our stay. Hot tub and sauna were perfect. The house was beautiful and fully stocked with everything. The beds were super comfy and all the rooms were beautifully decorated.
