I paid for valet parking for $59 a day and the parked my car in public parking across the street for $30. They charged me a resort fee for four days when i only stayed for 2. The rooms are very small and not everything worked. For the money i spent i was not very happy at all.

Absolutely loved the theme/decor and feel of the Horton Grand Hotel. Stayed true to the 1800’s building. Staff was friendly. The parking rate of $59 per night is way too much. No pool or other amenities that a newer hotel would have. Rooms didn’t have a fridge or microwave. But honestly none of that bothered me. I loved returning to the hotel every night. The courtyard was so pretty and peaceful. I would definitely stay again.

Rooms are small, but you don't go to a city to spend time in a hotel room. Bar area is cool, gym is adequate, staff let me check in 5 hours early. It was a great last minute booking. Locate right in the middle of all the cool stuff in the Gaslamp quarter.

This Victorian-New Orleans style hotel is located in downtown, very close from Little Italy and the San Diego Bay area, which offer many dining options. Is also close by car, 15-minute drive, to Balboa Park (that has many museums and attractions), San Diego Zoo and Sea World. The hotel is cozy, but a little old and may have to be internally refurbished not renovated to have a 5-star rating. The staff is amicable. Beds are extremely comfortable. The property offers valet parking. The hotel lacks a good place to dine decently. All said, I would recommend the hotel for a short stay while in San Diego.

Staff knew nothing at all about the ghosts and didn't seem to care. Service in the restaurant was almost non-existent. Bathrooms small, towels rough. coffee terrible.

My friend & I came for a quick one night stay to see a comedian in the area and we thoroughly enjoyed the staff, historic building and comfortable beds at the Grand Horton. Everyone we interacted with was warm and friendly and although we didn’t get to try food or drink at the in house restaurant, we definitely plan on returning and exploring more!

I would recommend the Horton Grand Hotel in San Diego if you are looking for a great experience. The staff was excellent and very professional, the restaurant inside the hotel was marvelous, and the view from the balcony was entertaining on a strip downtown. I will go back.

There is an unpleasant smell throughout the indoor areas… hallways, elevator. The room did not have a smell though which was great. The cleaning staff was amazing. The front desk and valet were pleasant. I didn’t like the shower which was an open floor type. I wish it had a bathtub.
