The location was fantastic. A short 3 minute walk to bus stop 1 at the city hall. I got a bus from the airport to there and caught two different buses for tours to the golden circle and the northern lights as well. As a solo traveller this was perfect as there was nothing to worry about. There was also a free shuttle bus there to Grandi area. There were numerous restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and bars in close proximity. You didn't really need to go very far after a long day out. The harbour, waterfront, shopping streets and main attractions were all at most 20 mins walk away in different directions (except Perlan which was 30-40 mins). The whole city was walkable. I didn't have to use any transport apart from going on tours. The service at the hotel was excellent. Friendly and professional staff. Always someone available with a smile. The cleaning staff were extremely polite. My room was super comfortable. The bed and pillow were perfect and I slept right through. I've seen others reviews highlighting noise being an issue.
