"Water took forever to get hot and the pressure was trash. The air conditioner was facing directly at one of the beds so it was hard to cool off the room without freezing. Phone in the room didn’t work AND it was dirty, so we had no choice but to leave the room get on the elevator to go downstairs to ask for help. Stopper on the sink was also broken…."

"We stayed here for 4 nights in April while attending a wedding in Brooklyn. On arrival, the guy who checked us in was friendly, informative and managed to get us into our room early, which was appreciated after a long travel day. Our room was sufficient for our needs, although a little small. There was very little wardrobe space which meant most of our clothes stayed in our suitcases. The bathroom was clean and modern - but you can see through the glass both in and out, which was fine for us as a married couple, but if you’re staying with someone you aren’t THAT comfortable with…not so much! The safe also didn’t work - kept saying an error message when we tried to program it to lock. On the first night, we had an issue where a member of staff spoke rudely to us because we used the elevator supposedly reserved for the rooftop bar (we had no way of knowing this). We reported it to management via the feedback request on Hotels.com, but it was never followed up. The second morning after housekeeping had been, the sheers in our room stopped functioning, meaning we had to climb onto the bed to move them manually when we wanted them open or closed. When we checked out, we discovered that Public charges a $45 per night ‘resort fee’ to cover ‘access to 24/7 gym, rooftop bar, lobby spaces’ etc. We used the gym once, and didn’t use any other amenities, so felt like it was a sneaky charge. Perhaps it should be charged on a guest-by-guest basis on individual need…."

"Great stay overall at The Roxy in Tribeca. The location is a major highlight—about a 5-minute walk to the train and an easy 15-minute walk to both SoHo and the West Village, which made getting around really convenient. The room felt spacious by New York standards, and the bed was incredibly comfortable with soft, cushy white pillows. The shower was solid—clean with medium water pressure, nothing luxurious but definitely did the job well. A couple of downsides: I asked for bathrobes and they were unfortunately out, which was disappointing. Also, it’s one of those hotels where you have to pay for extras like toothpaste—I always appreciate when places include complimentary dental or shaving kits, so that was a miss for me. That said, the restaurant/lounge inside the hotel was a standout. It had a really cool vibe with cushioned leather seating, games, a pool table, and a great food selection—including an oyster bar—which made it a fun spot to hang out. I’d stay here again for the location and overall comfort, but I’d probably also explore other options next time just to compare."
