Thunder Bay -- WHAT are you waiting for? This is the perfect place to "staycation" while you social distance from...well, everything, everyone! Let's face it. You have had little option but to stay close to home. So why not escape to this magical place, which will make you feel so, so FAR AWAY from it all? 😌

You found it! "The Jewel of the North". Professionally updated March 2020. This enchanting ALL-SEASONS cottage is only 25 minutes South of Thunder Bay and 1 hour North of Grand Marais, Minnesota. It is a close "escape" for those living in or near Thunder Bay and beckons to Americans who have ventured only as far as Grand Marais. The Cottage is a peaceful place for all in need of quiet reflection surrounded by nature's amazing canvas.

This is Lake Superior SHORELINE property, which means not only are the views of Lake Superior fantastic -- it is literally in your front yard! No road intersects The Cottage from Lake Superior so you do not just get a view — you get THE GREATEST lake! Guests will enjoy relaxing deck side listening to Lake Superior's powerful waves crashing below and lulled to sleep while its laughing waters lap the shoreline.

The Cottage sparkles with charm & rustic elegance right "on" Lake Superior! The Cottage is "superiorly" clean hosting quality linens, towels and a fully equipped kitchen. Dish soap, paper towels, napkins, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner & body wash are provided. Satellite television, high speed wireless, unlimited Internet and excellent mobile service insure while guests are truly "away" — they are "in touch" with the rest of the world.

A spectacular and scenic road trip meandering along Lake Superior's famous North Shore Highway 61 from Duluth, Minnesota is acclaimed "one of the most scenic routes" in the United States and consistently rates in the top 10 world-wide. BUT! The scenic drive does NOT end in Grand Marais. Continue North one hour passing through the US/Canadian boarder and embrace the mountainous, rugged topography with AMAZING views of Lake Superior dotted with its islands and inlets -- not seen on the USA side. Experience this amazing, beautiful bi-lingual country just across the Minnesota boarder.
Bienvenue! Welcome!

The Cottage is ideal for the business traveler working in or near Thunder Bay who prefers solitude after a day filled with relentless, tiring meetings. Incredible views of Lake Superior vs. a hotel room? Not even the nicest hotel room can compare. You will feel refreshed & recharged and ready for those relentless, tiring meetings everyday. 😉 Quality, secure, wireless Internet provide the opportunity to truly work "remote". Mobile phone connection in the area is excellent and The Cottage is just 1/2 hour driving from Thunder Bay City Centre.

The hot tub/spa is located on the front deck overlooking Lake Superior and is "open" year-round. Relax in the warm water as the sun rises or sets and in-between sunshine, moonshine, raindrops or snowflakes. A perfect place for amazing star-gazing and viewing Northern Lights.

A new propane fueled BBQ grill is located on the front deck.

Perhaps the North Shore experience is not complete without toasted marshmallows over a lakeside campfire? It is your decision. Luckily a meandering path in front of The Cottage beckons guests to the lakeside fire pit, which is a perfect place to build a fire — and memories that will last a lifetime.

The lower deck literally "hangs" over Lake Superior as its water laps below. This is an amazing place to enjoy panoramic SUPERIOR views while watching the loons pass by & saying hello. And do you remember that book? Yes, THAT book! This could quite possibly be the perfect place to read it. Ahhh, but is this really what it's all about? YES!

Two private bedrooms host comfortable beds, fine linens, large closets, dressers and flat screen televisions with satellite access. Both bedrooms are tucked quietly away from the main living area insuring guests can escape to a private space when desired.

The main living/dining area hosts an open concept floor plan with vaulted ceilings, which provide an open, spacious feeling. GONE! Are the days when some unlucky sole is stuck sleeping on an old-fashioned sleeper sofa. Guests will appreciate the new sectional sofa, which morphs into a large, plush, COMFORTABLE place to slumber. A large, flat screen television hosts quality satellite with all the channels, sound bar to elevate your TV experience, DVD player and lots of DVD movies for guests to enjoy. A Bose Bluetooth speaker allows guests to listen to their own music.

A variety of card and board games are provided for guest use.

The bathroom hosts a bath/shower combination with hand held shower option, grab bar and terrific water pressure! Shampoo, conditioner & body soap are provided.

The kitchen is recently updated and fully equipped. Plenty of cook and bakeware, dishes, table settings, napkins, paper towels, dish soap and variety of spices are available for guest use.

Thunder Bay hosts an International Airport just 25 minutes from The Cottage allowing people from all over the world to visit this special place on earth -- and they DO!

For those from the U.S.A. who have not yet ventured past Grand Marais, Minnesota. WHAT are you WAITING for with your strong U.S. dollar?! Experience spectacular topography and fantastic adventures just across the U.S./Minnesota boarder. The Cottage is only 1 hour from Grand Marais! Your strong U.S. dollar provides savings (25%) on entertainment and adventures -- in Canada!

Note: Passports are required at the U.S./Canadian Boarder.

It is easy to go on and on about the SUPERIOR views and spectacular setting of this charming Lake Superior cottage -- however with 100% 5-star guest reviews? Guests have already said it all! 🙂
