"Nice on the parade route"
Very professional, personable staff made our brief stay pleasurable. We were in the towers part of the hotel, 6th floor, which gave a very nice view of the downtown skyline. However, there was what appeared to be a former terrace area below our window that could have used some post-construction clean up. The bed was very comfortable, and it was nice to see the local fare, pralines, left on our pillow as opposed to the traditional mints. I would definitely recommend the property and stay there again.

"Mardi Gras Fun"
I have been to NOLA Mardi Gras many years. This is by far the best hotel we have stayed. The staff is extremely courteous and professional. The hotel is run very efficiently. You can tell. It was Mardi Gras. We had an early check -in, parking was very simple, walking distance to parades was less than 2 blocks. It was so close and convenient. The breakfast is also delicious. Also, it was the perfect place to park and leave when trying to leave during a parade. If you stay here, there is no disappointment. We will be back.

"Nice stay "
The Hilton was a nice hotel. The only think negative is that room service stops at 11pm. While in New Orleans you would think room service would at least be until 3am. Other than that it was overall nice.

"Great hotel near the quarter "
Great location. French quarter is across canal st, straight walk down Decatur to Jackson square. Part of the action without being in the middle of the madness. Every staff member was genuinely friendly and helpful. Love the European/west indie feel. Breakfast delivered to your room every morning. Hotel was under renovation but to be expected when you're staying in a 300 year old historic building. Parking is pricy but expected for Nola. Reasonable parking garages within 3 blocks via parking panda.

" Convenient to downtown and French quarter "
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was small but comfortable. I guess because it was Mardi Gras and things tend to disappear there was no ice bucket. Staff was sending one up but took longer than we could wait. Continental Breakfast was coffee, bananas, apples and fruit bars. Room on the 9th floor was very quiet and that is saying something during mardi Gras.

"Loft 523 is Solid"
I had a local friend refer me to Loft 523 and he was adamant about it being a nice, laid back place where I could relax after full days at my convention (at Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, a 12-15 minute walk). He was right. It's a great place that feels under the radar and the service was tremendous when I asked for it yet completely unintrusive, much like a great waiter. So to you pampered types, you might have to ask for help and it will be delivered and then some. I stayed in one of the penthouse rooms but was originally booked for the Artist's Loft. I changed when I decided I wanted a bath as the loft I first got didn't have one. I will say the loft was big and nice. The penthouse room I had was awesome. Very big, very tall warehouse/loft style ceilings, long luxurious curtains, an amazing bathtub, a great desk to get some work done, and a tremendously comfortable bed. It was sparsely decorated and very cool. It's definitely not a La Quinta. There were multiple fans overhead for those who like white noise and/or cool wind hitting them when they sleep and the heater also worked well for the cold blooded out there. There isn't a restaurant but you should be eating out. The only issue I had with it is the shower. It looks (italicized) good. The function however stunk: two immovable shower heads which hit at funny angles. If I could have turned them 30-45 degrees towards the inside of the shower the setup would have been awesome. Fix that and it's perfect.
