"Outstanding Staff"
I can't begin to describe how outstanding and caring the staff were at the Hotel St. Pierre. I arrived on a Sunday, ate my first New Orleans meal and was sick for the next 2 and a half days while staying at the hotel. However, the staff supplied me with chicken noodle soup, crackers, upset stomach medicine, and to top it off, I received a new room with a balcony so as to get fresh air when I felt up to it. Hats off to the staff that made my stay enjoyable.

Had a great time with family; a little disappointed it took an hour and a half to get into room after checkin time.

"Honeymoon Break"
We checked into the Cornstalk for four nights. The hotel is set back slightly from the main road and is very quiet and peaceful. All of the staff were very friendly and courteous. They even went to the trouble of signing a card congratulating us on our marriage. There is a turndown service every night with freshly baked cookies and bottled water. We stayed in the deluxe room 3 on the ground floor. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed. The location was great situated in the French quarter within walking distance of all its attractions. It is around a 20 minute walk from Canal street where you can catch a street car. The outside seating and the upstairs balcony were ideal for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing! I wouldn't hesitate to come here again and wholeheartedly recommend it.

International House - New Orleans Hotels

International House

221 Camp St, New Orleans - Map
"Exceptionally simple and quiet."
This is the hotel for people who seek simple comfort, despite the lavish verbiage about the brilliant interior designer, who must be the owner's darling. Yes, the lobby, bar and the elevator mosaics are very interesting. In the regular rooms, have no frills, but everything is well thought out, of decent or better quality, and very tidy. The images on line emphasize high end rooms. You don't see anything like that in the regular ones. Walls are cream colored, the bathroom is bright white. Towels are excellent and abundant. Bed linens are all white and rather thin. They supply many pillows of varying density, which is nice and unusual. I found the bed too soft, and the flannel bed pad scrunched into uncomfortable ridges that require remaking the entire bed to smooth out. The hotel staff failed to do that in the morning. The furniture is non-description dark stuff that has seen better times but is functional and fits into the small room. The carpet is black. I kept losing my shoes. TV and WiFi are good. Morning coffee is in the lobby, with granola bars and an apple or banana. If you call that a continental breakfast, you're all set. If not, there are many options within steps, or you can amble a few blocks to Cafe du Monde. International House is surrounded by brand name convention hotels; though less than 2 blocks from Canal it retains an atmosphere of an earlier, less homogenized urbanity.

"Beautiful Historic Hotel"
Great spot, within walking distance to all of the action, but far enough away to be quiet when you want to sleep. The rooftop pool and terrace are hidden gems.

"Awesome honeymoon"
The location is great and the staff is amazing. The lobby is undergoing some renovation but our 4th floor suite was amazing and private. It had exposed beams and a huge private balcony. This hotel is awesome, but no bar or restaurant. The breakfast arrived on time but was just mediocre so we didn't bother to order the remaining mornings. I would highly recommend the st. James.

The staff were very pleasant. This is not your average hotel, quirky but in a good way. Size of loft was terrific and bed was very comfortable. Location is terrific. Lighting could be a better in bathroom but I had everything needed, slippers, robe, iron, blow dryer etc.
