"If you want a property with character this is it! We stayed in the Cinema Room & it was quirky. A round bed (very comfy) with antique furniture, projector & screen. Very clean (but an old bathroom with high top bath that you step in to shower) & lovely friendly host. Breakfast was very nice, great pastries, coffee, cereal, yoghurt, cheese & cold meats. Location is about 15 minute flat walk from station (with luggage). Near an underground station to get to Old Town. It was an enjoyable stay"

"Two brothers operate the hotel between the Saone and the Rhone rivers. They know the restaurants, night spots, museums and monuments in Vieux Lyon and new, and safest places for 2 elders to go. Very convenient to everything and not a far taxi, Uber, or bus ride from the main train station. They even arranged for a package to be sent to the USA!
We got our breakfast around the corner at a little cafe and our lunch at a farmers market along the Quai Saone."

"The front desk staff was awesome. Everyone that we met were great. Hotel was very clean but it wasn’t your typical US hotel. The reception is a floor above the ground floor which was a little odd but once we figured it out, it was great."

We absolutely loved this beautiful boutique hotel! From the first minute we stepped into it we felt pampered. Our room was facing a serene garden and had a huge balcony where we could relax after a day of sightseeing or enjoy a wonderful meal from the room service. The staff was exceptional - everyone at the reception, the room service and especially the concierge did their utmost to make our stay comfortable. The concierge was very knowledgeable about the restaurants and other sights in Lyon...

A very classy hotel with wonderful views. We would stay again. The staff were very professional. One morning at breakfast staff seemed a little over whelmed and too busy. Best towels ever.

This is a very nice property. Some rooms are on the small side but bathrooms big. High end finish.
We were in 147 once and it had a few stairs inside the room and it was very small. We also had 225 and it was bigger with no stairs.
There were a couple of mtce issues in my room but they were fixed within 2 hours.
One issue when I tried for early check in they said they would call when room was ready. When I asked at 3:00 pm my key was ready in a box of other keys and luggage was in room. I...

We were so very pleasantly surprised by this property! We chose it for the location and the price but the pictures online seemed to look a bit basic but it was so lovely. The hotel was clean, quaint, and more high end than expected. Sure the rooms amenities were basic, but the room itself was very clean and extremely comfortable.
The hotel was walking distance to everything we planned to see, and the quality of the restaurants close by were plentiful, wonderfully varied, with first rate food....

Friendly, hospitable staff. Excellent kitchen (Michelin 1 macarron restaurant). Rooms are cleverly laid out to provide comfort while maintaining the ambience of the 16th century monestary. Furniture is turn of the century simple. Don't expect 5 star convenience. This is a history experience.

My husband and I were very happy with our stay in Hotel des Artisites and would return in a heartbeat. Although the room was admittedly small it was so well organized for unpacking that it functioned better and felt less cluttered and serene than a much larger hotel room we stayed in Nice. The room was one of the quietest we have ever stayed in. Although located on a square that could be quite busy, when the window was closed you couldn't hear anything. Spent a night at the charming Bed and breakfast ran by the very kind and charming owner, Mr Richardier. I loved the location. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the Part Dieu train station and same from the Presqu’île which is the main commercial area as well as city hall and the opera. Old Lyon and the funicular to Notre dame des Fourvieres is 10 minutes further ( or you can take the metro and it’s just a few stops) .
I had the cinema room which was amazingly well decorated with vintage...

Hotel Carlton Lyon was a lovely stay for us. The staff were fluent in French and English and very welcoming. The elevator, hallways, and room are well designed with a beautiful red color and wooden architecture. We stayed here for our honeymoon in Lyon as we tour France and the location of this Hotel is superb as you are in between the Old Town and the city. If you are thinking of visiting Lyon, this is a great Hotel to stay in. We will be back for sure.

Lovely hotel with clean comfortable beds and great customer service. Nice buffet with hot and cold offerings. Bathroom was a good size with heated towel bar that worked perfectly to provide warm towels.
