"Pleasantly surprised. This looks like a small motel, but is an apartment complex that rents out a few units. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedroom a separate from the kitchen dining room. Just a few blocks from the beach… and a great beach club. For a low budget trip, this place was just great. The staff did not speak any english but google translate helped to facilitate good communication. "

"The hotel was fantastic. Very clean entrance way and amazing air conditioning as soon as you walked in. The rooms were clean, modern, air conditioned and we had a small balcony with sea view. The rooftop pool and bar were great and we had a fabulous meal on our last night there. Only issue entering the hotel is there is no ramp for wheelchairs which made it difficult as my daughter had to lift the wheelchair up quite a large step so we could enter the hotel. Puerto Morelos overall is not the best wheelchair friendly place, but the people there make up for it and help out where they can 😀"

"Everyone was really nice and the staff learned your name the day. They were always welcoming and called you by your name. The rooms were really clean and the housekeeping service was always on top of it. My steamer didn’t work and within 15 mins they brought me an iron."

"This was our 3rd stay at the Hacienda Morales. We love it! It’s a basic hotel, has everything we need! Great location to all the restaurants and short walk to town square. Large grocery store a block away. Small refrigerator in the room for sodas etc. The scuba diving is right next door. Only thing that can be sketchy is the internet isn’t great, there is WiFi, but not always working well. But we enjoy the beach, pool and diving so it’s good for our needs. I highly recommend it for budget conscience travelers!"

"The hotel is beautiful and new, but it’s not finished yet… Due to the construction everywhere around it, there is constant loud hammering noise. The room was very dirty and not ready when we arrived. There was construction dust everywhere. The mirrors were dirty, and all the kitchen utensils were dirty as well. There was dirt all over the counter… The pool was very disappointing despite how beautiful the place looks. After only 30 minutes in the water, my float was covered with green stains — it was really unpleasant. The materials are already rusting. The attention to detail just isn’t there, which is unfortunate. We stayed for only 1 hour and 30 minutes before leaving… Basically, it’s a huge construction site all around the property. And the ocean is not beautiful at all, although that’s not really their fault. However, the guy at the front desk was super kind and genuinely very sorry about everything. Sadly, we will not be returning there."

"The place is very nice and comfortable with a huge balcony with wonderful unobstructed view of the ocean, wonderful birds, palm trees. Fantastic pool, everything is well maintained, and every need was well handled.Be aware that it's a pretty long walk up to the penthouse on a winding staircase. Good exercise at least. It is not true that you can walk to town on the beach; it is blocked by a large commercial pier. We learned to call Ubers on whatsapp to get to and from town. Maybe check to see the state of the Sargasso infusion on the beaches. It was impossible to use the beach and walk in and out of the water. WE loved being there anyway. Puerto Morelos is a wonderful place and the apartment was great. We would definitely return."
