The Prim Rose Inn is a true gem! It is perfectly situated, making it easy to stroll into the bustle of Bar Harbor, walk across to Bar Island or launch out for the day hiking. What makes it exceptional is the staff. Elle and Anna were so welcoming, provided invaluable info about great hikes, places to eat. Anna was there to greet me each night and we shared great conversations. Breakfast was delicious and arriving after 4pm to freshly baked treats was great! The kitchen staff were so...

This place was gorgeous, warm and welcoming. The lovely woman at the counter and her little dog make a perfect welcoming committee! Our room had everything we needed and more for our 2-night stay. This was our home base to explore Acadia, and it was the perfect location. The gym here is A+. Best hotel gym we've ever seen. Our room was super clean with a comfy bed, excellent shower and great temperature control. The walls were a touch thin and we could hear some crying babies and kids running...

A fantastic locally run hotel, the free shuttle into town was fantastic, the free breakfast was stellar, and the staff were so friendly. We highly recommend Acadia Inn!

Quick stop in for a night, clean, spacious room with a full fridge and great beds. Staff were super friendly, hard working, and one of the best Continental breakfasts I have ever seen.

The best area to stay in Eastbrook is along the picturesque coastline, particularly around Schoodic Peninsula and the villages of Winter Harbor and Prospect Harbor.
The Schoodic Peninsula offers a more tranquil and secluded experience compared to the busier parts of the region. It's characterised by its dramatic granite coastline, dense pine forests, and stunning ocean views. The area is intersected by a scenic one-way loop road, superb for leisurely drives, cycling, and accessing various hiking trails and rocky beaches.
Couples looking for a quiet retreat will find Winter Harbor particularly appealing. This charming village serves as a gateway to the Schoodic Peninsula and has a relaxed pace. It offers a few local shops, art galleries, and restaurants, providing a cosy base for exploring the natural beauty of the area. The ferry service from Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor (seasonal) offers a convenient and scenic way to experience both the tranquility of Schoodic and the bustle of Mount Desert Island without the hassle of driving.
For families, Prospect Harbor offers a lovely, laid-back atmosphere. This working fishing village provides a glimpse into traditional Maine life with its active harbour. It's a great spot for those who enjoy coastal walks, exploring tide pools, and perhaps even watching lobster boats come and go.
When is the best time to go to Eastbrook?

Families will find July and August ideal for their visits. This is when most family-friendly activities, such as boat tours, wildlife excursions, and local festivals, are in full swing.
