"The room has a 4-star hotel vibe, but the ocean view completely won me over—I absolutely loved it. Their restaurant is nice, and the ocean view is beautiful, but the food itself was just average. Unfortunately, there was one incident that left me disappointed. I lost my umbrella from the umbrella stand—someone took it on a rainy day. I couldn’t believe this happened at Hyatt. I reported it right away, but I was told that items left in public areas are not their responsibility. They did try to make it right in the end, but the umbrella had sentimental value, so it was still upsetting. Just a heads-up to be careful with your belongings."

"Hotel was a perfect location, we walked throughout the town and found restaurants within walking distance. Our room was clean and housekeeping was courteous."

"We stayed for a weekend getaway and the room itself was perfectly comfortable, nice enough, though more corporate and sterile than I typically like. But the customer service was consistently some of the worst (and strangest!?) we've encountered. The Big Sur Marathon was happening on our checkout Sunday, something the hotel never once mentioned during booking or check-in. Staff told us we couldn't leave until after the race when highway 1 reopened and that late checkout likely wasn't an option. No solutions, no alternatives, no apology. Even stranger was when we looked into the marathon details ourselves, there were actually multiple windows where we were able to leave. Information the hotel had and never offered when we (and many other guests) asked. Instead, multiple staff members tried to upsell us on a brunch at the hotel restaurant. We spoke to 5+ different staff members throughout this ordeal. Each one managed to be uniquely unhelpful in their own way. For the price point and the setting, you expect a certain level of hospitality. Will not be recommending or going back!"

"Check-in was smooth and efficient, which set a great tone for the rest of our visit. Location wise, the hotel was perfect & conveniently situated near key attractions and dining options. The walls are very thin so that would be my only complaint; we could hear the person next door snoring (lol) and their TV and the maids were really noisy in the morning chatting. Otherwise my family & pup enjoyed our stay - the grounds are gorgeous & we'd visit again!"

"We had an amazing time here. The property and views are the perfect way to enjoy the location and it’s perfectly situated to visit Carmel, Monterey, and BiG Sur. We rested well and needed nothing except groceries while here. Everything was carefully considered and appointed. Thank you for the hospitality! "

"The Acorn was the perfect place to gather with our 3-generational family. Plenty of room to enjoy each other and the spectacular ocean views, animals and wildlife. We walked across the street to Pt Lobos State Park for exceptional hikes and to play on Monastery Beach. We cooked several delicious meals in the generously stocked kitchen. And slept great in the comfy beds. Mark responded quickly to a minor concern."
