This property is located on approximately 5 acres on the top of a knoll overlooking Carmel Bay, Pebble Beach and Point Lobos. Surrounded by open space and park land, the Acorn is a very private setting yet only a 5 minute drive to a new Safeway, shopping and Carmel-by-the-Sea shops and dining. Golf, scuba diving, hiking, beaches -- all close by. Big Sur is a scenic drive just 40 minutes south on Highway One. In addition to the main house, there is a charming guest house with full accommodations. The Main House: The main house features a king master suite with sliding glass doors that provide romantic, breathtaking views of Point Lobos and Pebble Beach and access to the home's expansive deck. There is also a queen bedroom with separate bathroom and dressing room that also has access to the deck via sliding glass doors. Two additional bedrooms each have two twin beds. Guest House: The guest cottage is a charming, cozy 2-room cottage with a king bed, full bath, kitchenette and laundry. This unique cottage provides ultimate privacy from the main house should you so desire. Yet it is close enough to provide additional guest accommodations for friends or family. We allow a maximum of 8 guests, including infants and children. Please note , no Events of any kind are permitted at The Acorn Ranch Home. I take an annual golf trip with 7 other men, We look for a place where we can relax, chat and eat together in a low key environment. This home really filled the bill! It easily accommodated 8 of us. The large well stocked kitchen with a table for 8 in front of a large fireplace was the perfect area for breakfast and dinner. After dinner we convened in the living room, also in front of a roaring fire. It was a bit chilly during our stay so we didn't get to spend as much time outside enjoying the grounds as we would have liked. Expansive decks with an amazing view of the California coast from Point Lobos to Santa Cruz would make for the ideal place to unwind with a glass of wine and share time with friends or family. It is truly perfect for our family. So comfortable. We had four adults and two small children. Both the house and yard were exactly what we needed. We are from the East Coast, while our son and his family live in San Francisco. The Acornhas already become part of our family tradition. We are hoping to return many times in the future. Point Lobos state park, right across the road on the ocean, is spectacular. Sincere thanks to the Whisler family for making the Acorn available for guests! ##### Gregory W. The views! The history! The peace! We saw 4 types of hawks, osprey, deer, wild turkey. Simply breathtaking. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew this was exactly where we wanted to be - the house is stocked with plenty of linens and paper products and has a nicely set up gourmet kitchen. We loved having fire in the kitchen with our coffee and breakfast and the fire in the den in the evening with our wine. The house and property have so much history and we loved getting to read and see all the stories throughout the house. Thanks so much for sharing that with us. The home was perfect. Enough rooms, bathrooms and wonderful living/dining spaces for all of us. From lounging with our coffees in the living room, nightly card games and meals in the huge dining room to lawn games and BBQ dinners with an ocean view, this wonderful home was a treasure. Patrick and Sarah were wonderful hosts. They not only prepared us with everything we needed to have a successful stay, but keep us informed of local events that might have impacted our visit. Séjour de 7 nuits en septembre 2023 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### SUSAN C. 6 sept. 2023 Points forts : Propreté #### Family weekend at The Acorn Lots of space for our family of 8 to spread out. The house has a large LR, dining room, master bedroom. The other three bedrooms are small but did accommodate 6 people. We loved the outdoor spaces and the two horses who would come to the edge of the lawn (fenced) to visit. The views from the house are gorgeous and it was hard to leave them today. The fireplaces were wonderful at heating the LR and dining areas in the morning. The owners let us bring our two King Charles dogs at an extra cost. They enjoyed their stay as well. You are across the Highway from Point Lobos so it’s an easy walk for those inclined 4 of our group walked over. The three year old won’t go in a stroller so we went to the park instead. You are 2 miles from the Carmel Crossroads shops and restaurants and another 5-10 minutes into Carmel proper. There are three beaches that are a short distance away. Pebble Beach is probably 20 minutes by the time you navigate Carmel. Easy for a wonderful lunch and great views of the golf course. I can add more later Susan and Robert Crist ##### SUSAN C.
