« It was a very clean unit. Comfy bed, and a good kitchen setup. Close to Hilo and the beach park. Very reasonable price to pay for what you get. The road noise was a smidge loud, but fixed that a bit by shoving a towel under the main door. Overall I would recommend. »

« Chambre spacieuse et confortable. Sol de salle de bain très glissant. Chambre donnant sur le parking et un arbre rempli d'oiseaux qui chantaient a longueur de journée. Réfection de chambre très tardive (aux alentours de 17h). 2 restaurants sympas dans l'hôtel. 2 salles 2 ambiances aux alentours de l'hôtel : l'une avec parc et promenade super agréable et l'autre avec bâtiments abandonnés et squats. »

« Accueil très sympathique au Check-In avec une jolie réception. L’espace extérieur est super avec un accès à la piscine (un peu petite). L’hôtel en lui même aurait besoin d’une rénovation, surtout au niveau des chambres et des salles de bain, mais le confort est tout de même là avec une literie de qualité. Attention au ménage, notre réfrigérateur n’était même pas vidé à notre arrivée. De plus, le service « voiturier » est à revoir ! 25$ par nuit et le chauffeur n’a même pas été capable de...

« When I first pulled up, I was hesitant. I reread the reviews to remind myself of why I booked and then went in. First and foremost, I never saw any bugs let alone the bugs the one review mentioned. The room is spacious, beds comfortable, well appointed kitchenette, and nice water pressure for a real shower. I had gone to the green sand beach before arrival so I needed a good shower! Location is wonderful. I highly recommend the farmers market right behind it. They have souvenirs, jewelry, cool...

"Accueil très sympathique au Check-In avec une jolie réception. L’espace extérieur est super avec un accès à la piscine (un peu petite). L’hôtel en lui même aurait besoin d’une rénovation, surtout au niveau des chambres et des salles de bain, mais le confort est tout de même là avec une literie de qualité. Attention au ménage, notre réfrigérateur n’était même pas vidé à notre arrivée. De plus, le service « voiturier » est à revoir ! 25$ par nuit et le chauffeur n’a même pas été capable de conduire notre voiture prétextant que notre véhicule était en panne… pas très professionnel. Nous avons passé une nuit dans cet hôtel, c’était un très bon séjour dans l’ensemble, malgré quelques points à revoir ! "

Located just south of downtown Hilo on the Big Island’s east shore, Onekahakaha Beach Park is the ideal beach for families with small children and for tidepooling. There is a sand-bottomed cove that is separated from the open ocean by a boulder break, so the nearshore waters are shallow and free of currents or wave action. Also, lifeguards are on duty year-round.

Surrounding the cove are a few tide pools, which are sometimes visited by sea turtles. The largest one of them is home to a large population of sea urchins, as well as sea cucumbers, brittle stars, cone shells, sea urchins and sea anemones. However, this pool is not as children-friendly as it has a rockier and deeper bottom and is not protected by the breakwater. Also, it is subject to currents.
