Made up of a string of islands in the North Atlantic Ocean, Bermuda is a diver’s paradise. The country is famous for its stunning beaches, reefs and vibrant sea life.
There are 277 Expedia-listed hotels to choose from in Bermuda starting at CA $595 a night. One good way to stretch your budget is to bundle your hotel and flight bookings into a Bermuda Vacation Package. Experiences and car rentals can also be added on, making planning your getaway easy. With so much to see and do here, it can be hard to work out what to check out first. If you want to cover as many of Bermuda’s most notable sites as possible, why not add a tour of the main island to your package?
Day 1: To get to the nation’s capital, Hamilton, most travellers fly into Bermuda L.F. Wade International Airport in St George. Once you’ve made your way to your hotel and freshened up from your flight, go for a stroll along vibrant Front Street. Afterwards, check out popular attractions like Fort Hamilton and the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.
Day 2: Once you’ve had your fill of Hamilton, pick up your rental car and explore the rest of the island. It’s small, so everything’s easy to get to. Relax on the sand at stunning Jobson’s Cove or, farther east, take a leisurely walk along the Bermuda Railway Trail.
Day 3: Before leaving the island, head to St. George to take in some of the island’s rich history. Check out Fort St. Catherine and the Old State House. If you’re an art buff, the intricate icon paintings in the colourful Ethiopian Orthodox Church are a must-see.
Celebrate Bermuda Day, a national holiday held May 24 each year. Watch the parade and join in the music and dancing in Hamilton.
