beautiful property, gorgeous ocean views, surrounded by beaches. We arrived to this “4 star hotel” for our honeymoon and couldn’t have been more excited.
The 1st odd thing we observed was a few staff members seemed to be bored, and weren’t exactly welcoming when we checked in. We had mentioned we were on honeymoon. Complementary bottle of champagne in our room. I had never seen the wine before so I looked it up… it was $11. I understand the gesture but a 4 star hotel and we’re on honeymoon. I just felt like, why bother? Some rose petals would have been cheaper…
The day before we were going to leave, I tested positive for covid. I’m a RN and have been working in critical care the entire pandemic, didn’t get covid, and of course happened to get it on our honeymoon!! Luckily we are young-ish and most importantly, fully vaccinated.
We cancelled our flights home. We called the front desk to tell them and they insisted we move from our room into a “garden view” room. Initially, they tried to charge us a higher rate
Garden room was the only room without water views in the whole resort. Also no working A/C, no working refrigerator, plumbing sucked. After a couple days the plumbing exploded so they moved us to our THIRD room.
Not once did they call us and say, how are you guys doing?
Not once did our KCups get refilled. No laundry.
They also didn’t do a wake up call. Property 10/10 experience 4/10
