If it’s your first time traveling during COVID-19, you’ll no doubt notice a few more regulations and rules in place. Follow these tips and make your escape to Bermuda a smooth one:
- Know what, if any, rules or restrictions apply to both your origin and destination. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so check before you book your flight.
- Wear a face mask during airport screening. A TSA employee will ask you to lower your mask temporarily to verify your identity.
- To reduce the risk of cross-contamination, place your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your pass directly to a TSA officer.
- One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now allowed in your carry-on luggage. It must be no larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you’ll have to remove it from your bag for X-ray scanning.
- Place any personal items (like your phone, wallet and keys) in your carry-on instead of a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
- Separate any food you have for X-ray screening. Placing it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA agent to touch and inspect your belongings.
