The unit was freshly painted and clean. Keep in mind that this is an original structure, built in the 1920s in a gritty neighborhood. The living area is on the 1st floor and the bedrooms were upstairs. The kitchen was minimally supplied (only 2 coffee mugs) with no frills. Fortunately, Zeke's coffee shop was walking distance. Overall, the apartment met our needs, the beds were comfortable and linens clean. Given its walking distance to our daughters apartment nearby -the reason for our visit- we were generally satisfied with the rental.

It was Real.
I was meeting a DC friend in Baltimore because I wanted to go to AVAM (the greatest museum ever). My friend Ted runs Sideshow, the gift shop & they have something for everyone. Pigtown is to Baltimore what AVAM is to the Met, to wit: its not for the carriage trade. So if your sensibility is Brooklyn not Manhattan and John Waters (with a dash of The Wire) then this neighborhood is for you. Also, if you’re a sports or rail fan. The place was fine for my purposes. A bit worn, but very clean: near a bookstore (Charm City) and between brewpubs. One of them has Wednesday night trivia, which was big fun! The owner is responsive & he left a parking permit for us to use, as parking is an issue there, b/c of the stadium events.

Still (hopefully) working on updating property. Some new furnishings great, need more. All carpets need to go. Need more kitchen items for folks who stay longer and don’t eat every meal out. On street parking no problem and access to all highways and airport easy. Location great for walking to stadiums or inner harbor. If I find myself in Baltimore again I would consider staying again but only after updates are completed.
