I recently chose Zena Hotel for a staycation, primarily because I wanted a hotel with a bathtub. Initial research indicated that Zena had bathtubs, so I booked a room. However, when I called to verify, I was told they did not have any bathtubs. To avoid any inconvenience, I decided to visit the hotel in person before canceling and, to my surprise, found that they did indeed have bathtubs. The next morning, we ordered breakfast to our room. After waiting for 45 minutes with no sign of our food, we called to check the status. We were informed that the staff had forgotten to place our order, and by that time, the kitchen had closed. We were directed to the rooftop for food, only to find that the kitchen there wouldn't open for another hour. While the hotel itself is nice and located in a great spot, the pool is quite small. The overall experience was marred by the apparent incompetence of the staff. It's a shame, as the hotel has potential, but the service needs significant improvement.

My recent stay was unfortunately marred by a frustrating check-in process that left much to be desired. Despite having made a reservation and notifying the hotel of my late arrival, I encountered significant issues upon arrival. Upon reaching the hotel, I was informed that my room was not ready and was initially told it was considered a no-show. This was surprising as I had made a reservation for the previous night and had promptly called the hotel to notify them of my late arrival. Despite providing proof of payment for my reservation, I was informed that the payment did not go through and that I needed to resolve this matter with Expedia, through whom I had booked the room. After a considerable delay and escalating the issue to a manager, the situation was finally resolved. The manager intervened and acknowledged the error, eventually ensuring that I was accommodated in a room. While the manager's intervention was appreciated, the overall experience was disappointing and marred the beginning of my stay. The confusion regarding my reservation and the insistence that payment issues needed to be resolved elsewhere were particularly frustrating. In conclusion, while the hotel eventually rectified the situation, the initial check-in process was unnecessarily complicated and left a negative impression. I hope that future guests do not encounter similar issues and that the hotel can improve its communication and handling of reservations to provide a smoother check in

Zena is a gem. The lobby is filled with artwork celebrating powerful women. The Zena reminds you that the women are indeed smarter. Front desk is very professional, thoughtful. Rooms are absolutely dope. Mood lighting, nautilus shower (you'll thank me), wonderful views. We'll be back.

The hotel is placed in a nice location however there is a $125 SD held per night that we were unaware of for “resort services” that basically included a hotel gym and office. The rooms are nice but over priced for what’s presented….you’ll get a small mini fridge on the floor, no microwave, and you have to purchase the pool “cabana” space for a couple hundred dollars…if the hotel is going to charge extra, save your money and go to a nicer cabana.

We arrived early on Sunday and we had asked for early check in. The man at the front desk said that people were still checking out and that there were no clean rooms available yet. He took my number and says he would call me as soon as a junior suite was ready. My son, husband and I sat in the lobby for nearly three hours and no one followed up with us or offered us a beverage or anything else to make up for the time. They did let us use the rooftop pool while we waited. My husband finally asked another man if the room was ready and he said it was not the original man who I had talked to failed to follow up with us or call me to let me know. Besides that, the rest of the staff was very friendly from the waiter at the restaurant, the housekeeping staff who gave us extra coffee and sheets for the sofa bed, and the bartender who gave us free waters. The hotel is very nice and very tender and I can see why young people and couples would come here. It's not the most family friendly hotel so I'm not sure we would go back. The pool is very small and it was very crowded with lots of young women and men drinking around the pool. I like the female focused vibe but maybe a little too Instagram ready for my taste. Also a follow up by the Front Desk staff would have been nice after we had checked into our room and an apology for making us wait three hours during a heat wave.
