"Although clean, the room was the smallest we’ve ever stayed in, to the point that the sink was in the room not the bathroom. Very nice rain shower, but water didn’t drain properly the first day - it was fixed after notifying the front desk. View out the window was a wall several feet away. Air conditioning unit was loud and rattled all night, and the bed was hard and uncomfortable. Parking was $50 per night, but that appeared to be par for the downtown area."

"Check in took a little longer than expected as there was only one front desk clerk and a really long line. It wasn’t her fault as I heard her mention she asked for help but the manager brushed her off. The room was small but worked for us. The view of the bay was amazing and it was so neat"

"What a fabulous hotel, the oldest in the city, old world charm!!! we had a fabulous room on the fourth floor overlooking the beautiful tree that sprouts up our balcony was wonderful view of the city. Can’t stay enough about this fabulous hotel!!!! classic margarita in the salt and whiskey bar was delicious as where the Parmesan fries!!!! Robert met us at the door and was absolutely charming! Victor pointed us in the right direction to enjoy the gaslamp quarter and had lots of helpful tidbits if I ever come back to San Diego I am absolutely staying here!!!!!!"

"Package we purchased: Cabana with Beach Club was totally misrepresented. From Check-In throughout our stay, staff were very nice however untrained on the amenities included in our package. Wrong description of room ( not on the sand, no view, public walkway in front of the room. Ocean water toxic, can’t swim or touch water, sand as well. Serious consequences if used. Never told this was the case by the Hotel! Room only cleaned once in 4 days, when we called! Parking permit never issued. Manager requested to discuss this horrible situation, She never Responded. Don’t waste your money on this resort."
