"Fantastic hotel"
I cannot fault anything, the hotel and staff were second to none, with my expectations considerably exceeded.

Hotel Okura Amsterdam

Ferdinand Bolstraat 333, Amsterdam - Map
"Posh, spotless, but somewhat inconvenient location"
I had written a mixed review before, including a complaint about how their definition of "separate" beds means "two beds that are connected", and the internet is slow (throttled at an almost constant 1.97Mbps download speed, even though the upload speed varied greatly). The hotel reacted to my review very fast, and very positively, asking me to speak with a Guest Services agent (Irina) who was very nice, apologized for the check-in experience, gave us a free internet upgrade, and explained that the location is really not Okura's "fault" in the sense that they built it where it is because the city had promised them there were going to be all sorts of art-related facilities built nearby. They also plan to change wifi providers so that it'll be fast even without guests having to pay extra. They even came up to our room with a tray of fruit later. It's still not particularly convenient to get downtown, or to any of the business districts.

"Stunning hotel, service a bit short of the mark."
The whole hotel is aesthetically stunning, Deluxe Rooms are lovely they include Bose Speakers, underfloor heating, air-con and original art work, all as you would expect from a five star. I have many years experience visiting Holland, I understand culturally service is not the Dutch strong point but I felt the check-in service was disjointed, no communication between staff and myself and between themselves and finally which I was not happy about was the quick judgment and the preconceptions due to the way we looked. (smart casual, travelling clothes). Services wasn't explained (spa, swimming pool, turn down etc.) check- in time was 3.00pm however the rooms were not available until 4.30pm, so couldn't freshen up before we had our meal reservation else where. Would I go back? Yes, but the first experience was not great.

Stadhouderskade 12, Amsterdam - Map
"Good location, really helpful concierge"
The hotel is situated on the edge of the museum quarter and is very close to the main tram stops, shops, canal cruises, museums and vondlepark. We were away to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and the concierge desk were key in finding us an excellent Michelin starred restaurant for our anniversary. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Bord'Eau and a complimentary bottle of champagne from the Marriott to help us celebrate.

"Hotel with Character and History...It's Unique!!!"
Hotel is located just on the edge of the very touristy, very crowded areas. Property is in a quiet area yet within close proximity to the chaotic tourist scene. This was a plus! Décor of the hotel maintains its history of once being a shipping house to the world. Hotel with great character and unique floor plan.

Great location and nice room. Arrived early and would have preferred being told room would not be ready until 2. We waited in lobby thinking it would be sooner even though we knew check in was at 3 - they led us to believe it would be earlier. Overall, a great experience.

art'otel amsterdam

Prins Hendrikkade 33, Amsterdam - Map
"Just a few minutes walk from Centraal Station"
Art'otel is close to shopping areas, Canal rides and Restaurants. Hotel is modern with all the amenities. Word of warning when walking about the streets watch out for cyclist, Trams and cars as the roads look like pathways and they don't give way. Also the Coffee shops are different to Cafe's as they sell the local wacky backy more than they do beverages.

Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel

Kattengat 1, Amsterdam - Map
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Great central location but away from the noisy, busy streets. Within walking distance of the Central Station and other points of interest such as Dam Square, the Red Light District, etc. Would definitely stay there again if we were to return to Amsterdam.
