Vancouver Island Cheap Vacations

I visit Victoria quite a bit and have stayed at many hotels around town, but I can truly say that the Oswego is unique in that it truly feels like a home rather than a place to stay. I loved the fact that they give you your choice of freshly ground coffee when you check in, and up at the room you can choose between a French press, a Chemex, or a drip coffee maker to prepare your morning brew. My teenaged daughter and I shared a two bedroom suite and we had plenty of room to spread out and relax between the bedrooms, the lounge, patio, and fully-equipped kitchen. I actually loved the space. I thought the parking with easy in-out access was great and there was a station for the new Victoria electric bike service just up the street. We really had a great time, and I really recommend the Oswego as a change of pace from the traditional hotels around the inner harbour.

The place and staff were amazing. The only issue was they said the room had a queen bed but it was not a true queen. Because of this the sheets were not a proper fit and they always came off during your sleep.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the full kitchen with dishwasher and it was well stocked.

Air conditioning broken. Room was very very hot. Windows did not have screens as well. Otherwise hotel was good. Great location, nice staff, bed was a little hard.

Hotels overall vibe was great. Building is cool. Bar and restaurant on the main floor was great. Staff were kind and helpful. Location is also a plus. Real close to everything. My Room was on the 1st floor. Facing Pandora Ave. Might just be because the building is old - but noise travels pretty well coming from the outside. Sound of traffic; yelling of people on the street; neighbouring rooms - it was noisy for sure. Last 2 nights, Room next to me had a dog that barked at everything - which could be heard even at the far corner of my room. I would recommend this hotel. Just pick a higher floor room - if you can.
