Our experience at Moon Palace The Grand in Cancun was extremely disappointing and one of the worst hotel stays we have had. We traveled from the DC area with our children, leaving home at 2:00 a.m. When we arrived around 11:30 a.m., the kids were exhausted and hungry, and my daughter was pale and not feeling well. I explained this at check-in and asked for early room access or a comfortable place for her to rest, but we were pointed to a couch in the lobby. The cleanliness was shocking. There was fruit and discarded cocktail cups actually floating in the pool, and the pool and slide equipment looked dirty and poorly maintained. We also paid for laundry service, and some clothing was lost. I spoke with the front desk, customer service, and management, and no one provided a meaningful solution. We were so unhappy, I spent about 90 minutes on the phone across six to eight calls with Expedia trying to move my family to another hotel. Expedia said they needed to reach the hotel to arrange credit for the remaining nights, but couldn’t reach anyone. I went downstairs late that night myself, and I explained. I was told Expedia could try in the morning. By then, relocating wasn’t practical with a package booking. We tried everything we reasonably could to fix it and got nowhere. I’ve been to Cancun area several times, this year alone through Expedia we’ve booked at Impressions at Isla Mujeres, Xcaret in playa del Carmen, and this hotel, it was a horrible experience.

Cuando yo fui el hotel estaba en reparación por lo que habían zonas destruidas del hotel, no me dieron tarjeta para abrir la habitación tenían que abrirme los de recepción lo cual se vuelve bastante incómodo y poco práctico así como quita privacidad e independencia al entrar o salir. Tampoco quisieron facturarme la estancia y un impuesto de limpieza que nunca me mencionaron al hacer la reservación y que pagué al llegar al hotel, la explicación de ellos es que la factura la tenía que solicitar a la aplicación siendo que la aplicación no se dedica al hospedaje solo es un intermediario pero esos temas fiscales es imposible que los entiendan la gente sin conocimiento que atiende esto me costó que la empresa para la que trabajo no me reembolsara el gasto y tuve que pagarlo yo de mi bolsa. Honestamente no los recomendaría y si pueden usar otra opción háganlo. El hotel además se ve ya deteriorado y bastante usado.
