"A perfect property to experience the rawness of the island of Hawai’i. The home has modern updates to the kitchen and bathrooms but still keeps the authentic original plantation style build on the nature landscape of lava tubes and natural springs. The house is situated off the main drag through Hilo across from some cool black rock and black sand beaches. Expect to see turtles and beautiful coastal landscape you can only find on this particular island. With that, it’s a local friendly spot that can get noisy from cultural street burnouts and loud music. But it usually always goes quiet by 9:00. The listing is as advertised and you’ll be surrounded by real nature. Nature can be loud at night and bugs can be a problem at times but it’s a great way to explore this island and the town of Hilo. We will be back."

It is a great location, as well, right next to Carlsmith Beach. We ended up spending more time at Onekahakaha Beach (1 mile away) because it was great for young kids. The unit has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The unit was impeccably clean, too."
