"All staff are cheerful, courteous and very helpful. My husband lost his wallet in the taxi, staff at reception were extremely helpful in reporting to the police, finding out the taxi company and relocating the driver. We were informed of the return of the wallet in a few hour. Very efficient indeed. Amenities like free snacks and drinks are replenished everyday. Generous portion too. Room is spacious for 3 beds. Very happy with our stay."

"The main building is absolutely beautiful, with gorgeous traditional architecture that makes you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. However, be careful when booking Chi Lin Pavilion, as it is a separate annex behind the main building and requires a shuttle bus to reach. I booked a Superior Room (Chi Lin Pavilion) through Hotels.com but was given a ground-floor room facing the road with no view, unlike the photos shown online. I had to pay extra to move to the main building to enjoy the view I expected. The same photos seem to be used for both buildings, so check your room category carefully before booking. On the positive side, dinner at the Golden Dragon was wonderful, with beautiful night views and professional service. The breakfast buffet offered a great selection of local, Western, and Japanese dishes. The concierge staff were very helpful despite the busy lobby, and the hotel shuttle bus was convenient for visiting the night market and MRT station. Overall, a beautiful hotel with excellent dining and service, but make sure you understand the room and building differences before booking."

"Regent is at a very good location in Taipei and it's very walkable. The property is well maintained and part of a complex with the Regent Galleria. You definitely can tell this is an upscale property. There's a Louis Vuitton right in the lobby, but the hotel is not pretentious so even casual travelers will feel welcome. The rooms are very large as are the bathrooms. It actually felt a bit silly taking 4 large steps from the door to the sink. Daily cleaning was very good. On site dining options were extensive but my only experience was the breakfast buffet. Selection is great, including local, western, Korean, Japanese options. I would recommend this for travelers searching for a more upscale experience and business travelers."
