Great location close to the Park. Room was clean and spacious. Accommodation is not staffed and we had no need to call anyone. On site parking no issues. All in all a decent place to kick back and relax.

The breakfast was great! Kelly, the host, is very kind and helps with everything you need. We enjoyed staying and traveling around the area, ended up staying 6 nights exploring. Check out Awapuhi Labyrinth nearby for example. We especially enjoyed the nightly jacuzzi floats under the stars and nature sounds. Very recommended for the great value for money.

The only downside to our stay here was that we had to leave! We only had one night booked; our destination was on another part of the island. Even so, we were extended a warm welcome and spoiled by our hosts' generosity (and the view!). The building and its surroundings are lovely--beautifully maintained and the owners have clearly paid a lot attention to detail. This property was a great place to stay while visiting volcano national park and the surrounding area. The animals were really friendly and a joy to be around. Theresa greeted us when we got there and provided us with helpful information on things to see and do. The breakfast was amazing! We appreciated the many thoughtful touches like the heated blanket, heated towel rack, flashlight and umbrellas for visiting the park. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

The Aloha Crater Lodge is a family-run place for discerning tourists (the word 'hotel' is not really appropriate here). Do not expect sterile modern comforts, think more along the lines of an exotic rural setting which is nevertheless completely comfortable. Add four friendly dogs and two bunnies, a tropical forest and, of course, the very accommodating owners and you'll get the picture. We stayed in the Kilauea condo, which is surrounded by tropical rain forest. Very romantic. Carlos prepared a nice breakfast for the two days that we stayed. We were blessed to be there one night when Kilauea erupted. The manager texted us and we were among the first people there. Amazing experience. The only negative is that the wifi is limited so download anything you want to watch before you come or enjoy the view and read a book

Beautiful natural spaces! Mature, rare trees on the property, framing the hot tub. Make sure to know what you are booking. Other guests might not be as respectful as you (eg smoking cigs right outside your window)

We adored the little rainbow falls rainforest cabin. We have been travelling for about two weeks and it was time for a short retreat before continuing our adventure in the Hawaiian islands. Luckily for us, the volcano erupted, and we got to sit on the front porch listening to the rumble in the distance after having seen the start of the eruption that morning at the rim restaurant before they evacuated everyone.

VFI is very close to Volcano National Park and it was the main reason why we chose to stay here. The house is nestled in the rainforest with a short drive from the main road so its very quiet. Our room is spacious with many windows facing the rainforest and a big patio. Our room is comfortable and pleasant. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. The host, Jon, is also a very nice guy and approachable. Breakfast is a grab and go and has plenty of fresh fruits which is a bonus!

I like the homey-ness of the properties, very cozy!

Aloha Junction Guest House was formerly a B&B, but now considered a non-hosted guest house. The house is a beautiful former plantation house. The guest rooms are themed. Ours a cowboy theme. Really cute & tastefully done. We arrived to a welcome basket of food for our first breakfast. There was a microwave, fridge, kettle & coffeemaker in our room. The kitchen was off limits to guests. This B&B has you living in the jungle among the tree tops. The birds singing during the day and the coqui frogs singing at night made for a truly authentic Hawaiian experience. All staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast was always healthy and satisfying. Our room was comfortable and airy. The price was excellent but I strongly recommend booking directly through Dragonfly Ranch's owner. We hope to return soon.
