The Orchid Room (Room 6) was stunning. The bathroom and koi pond were really well done. Loved using the jacuzzi tub as the Kona rain storm started ramping up. We lost power a few times and had to pack up by flashlight in the morning but totally understand as it was a very strong storm -- strong enough to close the national park later that day. Would have loved to have stayed longer. The bathroom did not have a sink which was a little inconvenience, but the location of the property was great which was the biggest differentiator for this place. Little hard to find but the owner gave very clear instructions to locate the property. Shannon and her husband were great hosts. The room was very nice and had a water fall feature that really added to the ambiance and enhanced our experience there. They had e-bikes available that gave us a unique experience in the park. The room has some smell likely due to volcano water. The lavatubes apparently haven't been anything for some years. The room wass somewhat clean and no insects visible. The TV set had one volume.
