This has been one of best places I have ever stayed in my entire life. The place was beautiful, the park is out of this world, but most importantly, what made our stay all the more enjoyable was the incredible staff that was always there to help us and guide us with our trip.

Excellent stay. Beautiful room with a view of the Guelph and Pacific Ocean into the rainforest, room 9. There are 17 rooms in total, the last being 225 stairs away. Lots of wildlife walking to and from your room. The hikes are well guided. The beach is a short walk downhill 10 minutes away. A shuttle is available at certain times to return or a short workout up the hill to the lodge. The staff are exceptional, kind and willing to do whatever it takes to make your stay complete. The meals are...

When I read other reviews, thought they must be exaggerated or fake, but this place really is everything others say. Absolutely beautiful property. Warm, friendly caring staff. Loved the private flight experience to and from SJO. Waterfall hike tour. A little more challenging than we were first led to expect, but we made it, LOVED it! Casitas beautiful. Huge! Spa and fitness and pools all excellent, big, new.
Only minor criticisms:
Fitness centre equipment a little limited. No leg machines....

Recently stayed here with family of five adults. The hotel and property is stunning. Footprint is not huge but that was not a concern for us. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. The bay location provides more of a lake feel than an ocean view, which is nice for the kayaking and seadoo activities. We would certainly go back.

The grounds are really beautifully laid out and the looks amazing. The room had a ton a nice little touches and was very well put together. We ate breakfast in the restaurant and it was a great buffet breakfast with some of the juiciest, softest mango pieces I have ever had. It’s a little outside La Fortuna (15 min drive) but that’s the appeal of being next to the jungle! And this is a great spot to enjoy it.

The staff at the Serendipity are great. Angie picked us up at the port and walked us back early in the morning on departure day, Anna served breahfasts, lunches and dinners in the courtyard, and they all helped to arrange tours. We did the kayak tour with Wesley and found it very enjoyable and informative. Also did a walkabout with Jonathan, which was lots of fun. Tortuguero was a very worthwhile place to visit, we would come back and stay at the Serendipity again.

The grounds are really nice, great amenities and proximity to and quality of beach (Conchal) is amazing. What I didn’t like were two individuals at a Swiss Travel (3rd party activities). José operated towels and was rude on our first day about not having sufficient towel tickets and noticeably cold thereafter for the rest of my stay. That really bothered me. The other person as at front desk - while explaining the toi activities, she intermittently texted while i was reading and asking...

We arrived at the security gate when the gps showed we were still some distance from the resort. As we drove approaching the resort, it's clear a lot of money is going into infrastructure in the area, and there are a number of other gated communities.
We were warmly greeted at the door, invited into a 4 desk office to sit down and check in. Definitely a premium feel. We were taken with our luggage to our rooms (1 King room, 1 dual double room), and found them to be top notch materials,...

I love the beach location, the good music around the pool that was not to loud. I loved the fact that there was no loud speakers yelling on mics and no loud music or loud activities. That was the highlite and will keep me coming back. It was quiet and relaxing yet fun and enhanced atmosphere.
The rooms could be updated but worked. Maids were great. Food was good. Cleanliness good. The beach at this location was superb and not crowded.

The best part about this resort is probably the staff. They are all genuinely happy and happy to be there. It is ocean front and backs into the jungle with lots of wildlife to be seen. we found it very comfortable and clean and the food was delicious with a lot of choices. there are plenty of shuttles to get you around if you don't want to walk.

Pretty new resort, great staff, good food, big spacious room. Pools were great, the resort is right on the beach (black volcanic sand) shallow/warm water great for kids. Lots of spots around pool/beach to sit. Staff and food options were great, bed was comfy, TV options were great too, and good wifi all over the place.
The AC in the restaurants was not great, but it was REALLY hot when we were there.
The spa wasn't worth it, in our opinion, plus we had a reaction to some chemicals in the...

I choose this hotel by chance. I looked at the other reviews and figured for the price it was worth it. I also wanted something by the beach. The staff were very friendly and professional and the front desk spoke English very well which helped a lot when trying to figure out on places to go and things to do. Coasta Rica is a beautiful country, there is a lot to do and see. The town I was in Puerto Viejo, which is on the Caribbean coast. The town is very safe, people are friendly and you can...

Great beach and pool area-best of both worlds. Food was great and service was awesome. Very friendly staff. Very relaxing and laid back hotel. Lots of excursions available if you want to leave the hotel and do some sightseeing or adventurous activities. Can walk to the town of Samara along the beach.
