"I couldn’t check into the Spot, but after 4pm I didn’t get the details so I called the contact number. They said housekeeping was behind so they offered an upgrade at a nearby hotel. It was nice and had a view of a harbour. BUT the next morning I’m woken to the sound of the door being unlocked. THERE WAS NO KNOCK! No one saying “it’s housekeeping”. It was a quiet rattle of keys turning the lock. Im surprised it even woke me. I jumped out of bed, yelled that the room was occupied as the door was opening. I got to the door before they could see me and forced it shut against their weight. I yell at them to go away. As a woman traveling alone this is the worst nightmare and something that happens all too often. The door didn’t have a bolt and chain lock to prevent someone outside from unlocking it again. A man said he’s housekeeping, I tell him to wait until I check out. It honestly felt like he still wanted to come in and clean. It was so bizarre. I settled down and went to the office to tell them what happened. She was apologetic, said he is new and went to the wrong room, but honestly it felt like she didn’t get how traumatic having someone pushing your door open can be. She said I could check out late, so I went back to bed. Less than 2hr later there’s a knock at the door. They said ‘housekeeping’ as they unlocked. I said occupied and didn’t hear him go away. So I went out to face him, he showed me his paperwork, which had my room # on it, but didn’t specify the hotel."

"This is a Pet Friendly hotel, it has a "pet side" and a "non pet side" in my reservation I asked for "non pet side" as I was not bringing one. When I got there he claimed the hotel was fully booked and had no other choice but to put me in the "pet side". I said "OK as long as it's clean and quiet", the contract I signed noted that people with pets were responsible to keep them quiet or be faced with charges that the hotel would have to credit their other guests for the inconvenience of an annoying pet. I went and napped after a long day and realized the dog next door was locked in the bathroom where its tail kept banging against the wall or tub and it kept barking, I complained at the desk, and went for dinner. Upon my return the dog was still doing it, so I called the desk, they went and spoke to the other guest and when done the guest proceeded to bang on the shared wall of our rooms. An hour later the dog started again and I again called the desk to no avail. Next morning the clerk promised that he'd get his manager to call and suggested they'd offer a credit. we are now (6) days later and no call and no credit."

"This Hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. the restaurant downstairs (not affiliated) was terrific too :) The front counter staff person was super friendly and helpful and the room was quite new, I had some trouble getting the TV going but I attribute that to my age ;) LOL The free & secured underground parking was also a plus "
