The Dagny Boston

10/10 Excellent
"Property was well located, close to attractions and restaurants. Room was clean, elegant and comfortable. Bathroom amenities were very good and there were towels aplenty. The coffee was good, a Nespresso maker. They kindly provided us with decaf capsules when we told housekeeping that we could not drink regular coffee. There were 2 complimentary bottles of water. The only negative if you could even call it that was that the blinds had to be down because the windows faced other windows that could look inside but we did not mind it at all. Overall, very comfortable stay."

The Midtown Hotel MOD Collection by Sonesta

The Midtown Hotel MOD Collection by Sonesta

8/10 Good
"This hotel is well located and convenient to shops, restaurants, tour buses, and public transit. It seems to have been recently renovated with new flooring, bathroom, furnishings, etc. The staff were kind and helpful. I'd recommend the hotel and would stay again. A couple notes though. Breakfast really isn't much but some takeaway pastries. There are lots of restaurant options around though. The heating/cooling seems not to have been updated - circa 1970s? Though the old temp dial was set in the 60s, my 2nd floor room never really cooled down. The fan control worked though to blow around the warm air. At least I could open a window. The fan in the bathroom was hanging down from the ceiling. The low ceilings made that pretty obvious but just needs a maintenance fix."

Frequently asked questions

How much does a budget hotel in Wellesley cost?
Budget hotel prices in Wellesley vary, but you can find a great deal from CA $161 on Expedia. To find the cheapest budget hotels, be flexible with your dates—typically, off-peak and mid-week stays are cheaper. Stretch your budget further by looking for hotels with free breakfast, free parking or free airport shuttles. Sort your search results by "Price: low to high" to see our lowest rates.
Which area of Wellesley is best to stay in for cheap hotels?
Finding cheap hotels directly within Wellesley, Massachusetts, is quite challenging, as it's primarily a residential town without a large selection of budget-friendly accommodation. Instead, solo travellers looking for more affordable options should consider staying in neighbouring towns like Natick or Framingham, which offer a wider range of hotels at more accessible price points.Natick, located just east of Wellesley, provides several hotel chains that are typically more budget-conscious. It boasts good public transport links, with MBTA commuter rail stations that can get you into Boston or to the edge of Wellesley for further exploration. For those without a car, the Natick Mall area also has local bus services.Framingham, a bit further west, is another excellent option for solo travellers seeking value. This town offers an even broader selection of hotels, including extended-stay properties that can be more economical for longer visits. Framingham also has MBTA commuter rail access, making it feasible to travel to Wellesley or Boston.
When is the most affordable time to visit Wellesley?
The most affordable time to visit Wellesley, Massachusetts, is typically during the off-peak seasons, specifically late autumn (November) and late winter (February to early March), outside of major holidays and university events. During these months, demand for accommodation and flights tends to decrease, leading to lower prices. For solo travellers, visiting in November or February can mean benefiting from reduced hotel rates. As Wellesley is a university town, accommodation prices can fluctuate significantly around student orientations, graduations, and parents' weekends. Avoiding these peak times, which usually occur in September, May, and early June, will yield better deals. You'll find the town quieter, allowing for a more relaxed exploration of its charming boutiques and cafes without the crowds.Families might find late winter particularly appealing for budget travel, especially if they are interested in indoor activities. While outdoor recreation might be limited by the weather, museums and local attractions often have fewer visitors, and some might even offer off-season discounts.
Is Wellesley a budget-friendly destination?

Wellesley itself has limited budget accommodation, so expanding your search radius is key.Couples can enjoy many free activities within Wellesley, such as strolling through the beautiful grounds of Wellesley College, exploring the trails at Elm Bank Reservation, or visiting the town's charming shops and cafes. Packing a picnic to enjoy in one of the local parks is another excellent way to save on dining costs.

The campus itself is a stunning arboretum, featuring beautiful gardens, walking trails around Lake Waban, and impressive architecture. It's great for a leisurely stroll, a romantic picnic, or simply enjoying the tranquil atmosphere. Solo travellers might find the peaceful paths ideal for quiet reflection or a jog.Another excellent option for both couples and solo travellers is exploring the various conservation lands and parks dotted around Wellesley. Is it cheaper to book flights and a hotel in Wellesley as a package?

Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy.
