"Wonderful stay in magnificent hotel"
This is a 'wow' hotel. I booked a suite as an anniversary treat. We had a wonderful stay from start to finish. The staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. The hotel is stunningly beautiful and our suite was breathtaking! It was enormous with a large comfortable bed, elaborate wooden flooring and grand furnishings. It was the most beautiful room I have ever stayed in. Best of all was the balcony with canal view! How romantic! We loved watching the gondolas passing up and down. The hotel is excellently located for sights such as the Rialto bridge and St. Marks square. We dined in the restaurant and had a thoroughly delicious meal of cod starter and fillet of beef main. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Thank you for such an enjoyable and memorable stay in magical Venice.

"Beautiful view of Venice"
Fabulous hotel. Great staff. Amazing spa. Beautiful view of Venice with convenient access via the hotel water taxi. Only complaint was we were unable to unpack as there was only a wardrobe with 4 hangers and no shelves.

"Great location"
Hotel was ok, but quite noisy, rooms could do with tea/coffee facilities, did find out reception would have gave us a kettle on the day we were leaving, bed was slightly uncomfortable due to being 2 single pushed together, was unable to open the French doors for any air, and our view was of across the alley, arm span away, of people's shutters. Everyone who worked at the hotel was very polite and helpful, even down to printing our boarding passes off for us.

While it was convenient having the train station right next to the hotel I certainly did not enjoy hearing the train go by every 10 min all night. My room was not very clean I could see the dust in the air and my socks turned black from walking on the floor. Also there was no kettle in the room ( I had to ask for one ) and only one cup for 2 people.

"Nice hotel, quiet location. "
Enjoyed our stay. Gardens needed attention , lots of weeds, tall grass, etc. Appreciate it was Easter so pool not filled/open but areas surrounding could have been improved. Breakfast a bit boring , only one staff couldn't keep up with demands on some busy mornings, we felt sorry for them. More choice would have been nice.

"Excellent location"
We had an amazing stay at this hotel. Excellent location, helpful staff, A massive thank to Staffono for arranging the water taxi so quickly, the party made it to the train on time. The roof terrace restaurant had the best views in Venice. It was magical having breakfast in such a beautiful setting. I am going to recommend this hotel to my family and friends.

"Beautiful, but expensive!"
This is a stunning hotel which allowed us to explore magical Venice, but from an absolute sanctuary. The hotel and island is beautiful, immaculately kept and extremely clean. We stayed in a residenza room which was absolutely amazing. However, there were a few gripes which stopped it feeling like quite such a treat... The pools are beautiful but are only open 1030 - 1830, so no chance of a pre-breakfast swim and closed to early to enjoy a splash before venturing out again for dinner! There is a free shuttle between the hotel and Venice, however this only runs once an hour and can only carry 39 people, we had to be at the pick up points roughly half an hour before each shuttle to have the best chance of a place! This was no fun when at 2230 even this didn't work, and we had to wait for the next one, at 2330, to get back to the hotel! We had expected the hotel bar and restaurant to be expensive but at 15euros for a beer, and 10euros for a prosecco, we were shocked. Still further shocked when we asked for some milk to make tea in the room and were told it was 8euros, plus another 8euros for them to deliver it to the room! Needless to say- we didn't order milk again! We did have a wonderful time, but for a pricey 5 star hotel that the service didn't quite match up...

"A romantic,boutique hotel for a special occasion "
We chose this hotel for our Silver Wedding holiday and it didn't disappoint. Located right on the Grand Canal , it provided beautiful views from the hotel terrace where we had breakfast every morning and evening drinks. The hotel itself is an architectural delight, filled with interesting features and artifacts. A small boutique hotel with the ambiance of quiet reserve .The staff were friendly and attentive, which gave you the impression that you were the only ones there . We would recommend the Hotel Stern to couples looking for a romantic break in a beautiful city .
