Villa Berghinz

Via Negroponte 22, Venice - Map
"Perfect in every way.."
We booked in for a week and immediately on arrival were made to feel extremely welcome by Giorgio, Patricia and Jennifer and of course Oliver the family dog. Everything about our stay was perfect. We would just like to say a massive thank you to Giorgio, Patricia and Jennifer for looking after us and allowing us the freedom to come and go at our leisure. Sending all our love and best wishes from a rainy wet Liverpool..... Mick, Michele, Sonny and Nell xxxx

Hotel Sorriso

Via Cristoforo Colombo 22, Venice - Map
"Pleasant hotel near beach on Venice Lido"
Hotel Sorriso is modern, light and immaculately clean. Our beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom was clean and modern with an excellent shower. The main downside is the commute to and from Venice. When you take the vaporetto from Venice to the Lido you then have to take a bus to the hotel. There is usually one within 10 minutes and it's around a 10 minute ride but the bus can be very, very crowded during busy periods. Allow for an average of an hour's commute to and from Venice. The area around the hotel is very quiet so it's a good location to unwind after the being in a busy city. and if you want to spend a day on the beach it is ideal. Altogether a very good hotel and excellent value for money provided you don't mind a commute to Venice.

Hotel Graspo de Ua

San Marco 5094, Venice - Map
"Small hotel near the Rialto Bridge"
The hotel proved to be old and tired, with rooms spread over 5 floors but no lift, rooms that got hotter the higher up you were, and air conditioning that didn't work but with mosquitoes coming in when you opened the windows. On the plus side though the rooms were reasonably priced, food good, clean and comfy, the staff pleasant, and the location fabulous - just a few paces from the Rialto Bridge, really at the heart of Venice. So on balance we'd use it again, and recommend it on that basis.

Corte dei Greci

Castello 4973 - Fondamenta Dell Osmarin, Venice - Map
"Small and average hotel"
It's a small and average hotel for international standards but very well located near St Marks' square. Staff efficient but not particularly friendly. It should be alright for a couple of nights.

Castello 4765 - Ponte Storto, Venice - Map
"Awesome Location"
We sought a place close to key sights in Venice and this is the place. Our daughter was able to meet my wife and I and we were a little cramped in a room for 3, but the room was nice. Great breakfast. But the best is the location, a very short walk to Piazzo San Marco and easy walking/ transport to museums and other sites. It's a bit on the pricey side, but I understand everything is in Venice. We found several restaurants that were reasonably priced close by, and it was a real bonus to find the Laundromat just behind the hotel - key when packing light for a 2 week trip.
