Highly Recommended

Posted 25-May-2016
Returned yesterday from a 3 night stay. The hotel is perfect in location. Close to Rialta boat stop and no bridge to go over with luggage. So close to St Marco too yet in a lovely quiet courtyard. Room was very nice and staff extremely helpful and pleasant. Breakfast much more than the average continental and served in lovely rooms. We would definitely choose Al Codega if visiting Venice again.

Unusual lovely hotel.

Posted 22-May-2016
Pros: Outstanding breakfast Lovely décor Comfortable large bed Helpful staff and free WI Fi
Location: Very good location.
This hotel is decorated in traditional décor with attractive wood floors, lovely brocade bedspreads and drapes and more formal fine furniture. Breakfast was excellent with delicious eggs, a wide variety of gourmet type goodies, and all the basics. Ex. pear slices covered with cream cheese, a walnut half and thin slices of cheddar. It is within walking distance to the Square with the Doges. It has a very good location, but is a little difficult to find. They will send you a map with directions. The room was spacious and the large bed was comfortable. The square it is on looks old. but the hotel is well appointed inside. We would definitely return to it.

Great location and easy to get to.

Posted 19-May-2016
Pros: location, staff friendliness, and cleanliness.
Cons: Bed comfort and real eggs at breakfast
Location: Plenty of shopping and food surround you.
This was a great location. We were able to take a water bus close to the hotel, making it easy with 4 bags to walk to. Water bus drops you off at Rialto and it is a short walk. Do not get dropped off at St Marks squire as it is a much longer walk. Even though it is centrally located and surrounded by busy streets and shopping it was very quiet. It has a small quiet court entrance that is tucked out of the way from all of the busy shopping and busy streets. Within short walk to shopping, fresh market, Rialto, Doges' Palace, and St. Mark's Square. The staff were outstanding. friendly and assisted with any request we had. They set us up with opera tickets, helped us get our water bus to the airport, and gave us local recommendations for food. We got one of the rooms with our own bathroom. But after looking around I wouldn't mind the sahred bath rooms as everything was so clean. The room was small as expected in Venice. the bed was a little uncomfortable but still OK. the continental breakfast was good but not fabulous. they had juice, breads, pastries, and scrabbled eggs (powdered). The cappuccinos were outstanding. I would stay here again if we went back.

Sehr schönes zentral gelegenes Hotel

Posted 12-May-2016

venice in May 2016

Posted 10-May-2016
Pros: Location and the breakfast.
Cons: The hotel is too old. It definitely needs a total renovation, and also they can add TV to each room.
Location: The location is good and close to everything.
The rooms are clean, and the location is good, but I don't consider this hotel as a 4 star hotel. This is more like a 3 star hotel. The rooms are very small, and no TV.

Great hotel in Venice

Posted 8-May-2016
Pros: Location, Venetian ambiance, Clean, Quiet, Friendly welcoming staff, Breakfast buffet
Cons: Nothing we can suggest
Location: Halfway between Rialto Bridge and St Marks. Lots of shops, restaurants, bars etc, nearby but hotel sited in a quiet courtyard,
Very good location situated in a courtyard off one of the main streets between Rialto and St Marks Square. Only a 5-10min walk from the water bus stop. A peaceful retreat away from the tourist hustle and bustle. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Great breakfast buffet with a wonderful variety of choices. Will definitely book in here again if we ever have another Venice trip.

A pearl in the heart of Venice

Posted 2-May-2016
Pros: Everything, staff, breakfast, location, cleanness, quietness & ...
Location: Located exactly between San Marco square & Rialto bridge surrounded by plenty of good restaurants & nice Italian boutiques, close to Vaporetto's.
This was my second time staying at this lovely hotel, every time a week. I'm sure by my next visit Venice I will stay again at this hotel. Everything is perfect, from staff to breakfast, from cleanness to location.

Lovely small Hotel

Posted 22-Apr-2016
Pros: Situation.
Cons: Cannot think of anything in particular
Location: Ideally situated for visiting Venice
lovely location in a secluded courtyard, much nearer to both P.St Marco and Rialto than it looks on the map. Thoroughly reccommended.

Hidden hotel close to the Rialto bridge

Posted 19-Apr-2016
Pros: Brilliant location. Good breakfast.
Cons: Better coffee at breakfast and if they can do anything about the flying insects in the bathroom.
Location: Cross the Rialto bridge and go to the veg and fish market in the morning. Return in the evening to go on a chicetti and spritzer hunt.
This was a lovely hotel, hidden in a secluded courtyard half way between St. Marks square and the Rialto. We were sent a useful YouTube video before hand showing us how to find the hotel. We arrived late, but check in was very quick. The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There was no tea or coffee in the rooms, but when requested they brought some tea and biscotti to our room. There was a good choice at breakfast, although the coffee was a bit weak. We got a few midges/mosquitos in the bathroom, but you are on an island in the middle of a lagoon. Overall a great place to stay.
