The NH Santa Lucia is a lovely hotel close to the train station, & on the Grand Canal. My stay was brief but very enjoyable!

Be careful, this states as non-smoking property. It is not. The premium room given to us, booked as non-smoking, explicitly had signs saying it was a smoking room and smelt exceedingly strongly. Canal view was also very limited. Otherwise hotel has character, is in great location, breakfast is good. Really good hotel, but smoking rooms really should not exist any more....
