      Good March break getaway
      The house is very spacious with lots of sleeping space. The fun games in the basement and the hot tub and sauna were the reasons we selected the property. The sauna is wonderful. Be prepared to test and adjust the hot tub water parameters upon arrival. Also need to bring your own sheets. We brought sleeping bags because we don’t have the same size beds at home so didn’t have the right sized sheets to bring. Lots of space for kids to play and explore outside and I’m sure the lakefront would be amazing in the summer!

      Overall we had a good time, it was clean and the host was available to answer questions. just needs a few maintenance ( coffee machine was not working, one the games downstairs did not turn on, few small things here and there).

      Lovely stay at Sandy Lake Charm Authentic Cottage!!
      We stayed at the Sandy Lake Charm cottage for three nights in October. We were there for a family wedding in the area so unfortunately we didn't get a chance to go for a walk to the beach across the street. The last night we did enjoy the hot tub and sauna which was very relaxing. The place was very clean, lots of room, close to town and the owners were very quick to communicate with us when needed when we first arrived. A nice place to stay near Buckhorn. Thanks again!!

      Family Time
      Three generations together for a fun week. We all enjoyed the accommodations, the sauna, hot tub, games room trampoline and nearby beach. Lots of room for 8 people and plenty of activities. Alex responded to all our inquiries and was prompt to complete minor repairs. Buckhorn was a short drive and had all the amenities we needed. The grandchildren loved the resident chipmunk!

      Great Cottage and Location
      This is our second time renting this cottage and it does not disappoint. The owners are very responsive. The cottage is very spacious. The hot tube, sauna and trampoline are in great condition. The yard is surrounded by trees, making it quiet and peaceful. The beach is a walk across the street with very shallow water for a long distance, Sandy beach edge and no seaweed (excellent for little kids).

      Perfect for a group of friends' weekend getaway!
      We were in search of the perfect weekend getaway property to have a reunion, where are friends and family from across Ontario could meet centrally around Peterborough. We were so fortunate to find this listing! There were 10 of us staying here and plenty of room for everyone. We were able to utilize the two living/rec room spaces, and see everyone for breakfast and dinner at the table in the dining room. There are lots of windows letting in natural light with a great view of Sandy Lake, with plenty of green space in front and backyard; we really enjoyed utilizing the hot tub and sauna. As someone with allergies and asthma, and very high standards when it comes to cleanliness, I was very pleased by how clean this rental was. It really has a cozy charm that made us all feel at home. The only downside is that we didn't book to stay for longer!!
