This Queens area offers a perfect blend of authentic ethnic restaurants and the charming Sunnyside Gardens Historic District. Grab coffee at a local café before exploring nearby attractions like MoMA PS1 in Long Island City or Gantry Plaza State Park.
Easily walkable to/from Penn Station, Times Square etc. Staff were great, friendly and always willing to help. My only minor issue was the hotel is on a street that did not LOOK all that safe, it was dark and had some sketchy looking individuals. However I do want to stress that at no point was I worried something might occur, just be aware that it appears to look scarier than it is. We are spending another night in NYC after our cruise and I was hoping to stay here again, but unfortunately...

Central location and large room. Easy access to subway and citi bikes. Appreciated the mini fridge and good AC. Front desk staff were very helpful throughout the whole stay and went out of their way to make our trip enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in midtown.

My son and I were “stuck” in NYC for 2 nights due to the global internet fiasco. With literally no reasonably priced rooms with more than 1 bed, I used filters to drill down and found Pod. What a cool place!!! The location could not be better for the walking tourist, and the concept is genius. What a fantastic use of space and a focus on cleanliness. If I ever find myself in NYC, I won’t be looking for a place to stay, I’ll be staying at Pod.

It was a great place to stay-6 minutes from grand central everywhere was walkable. We had accessible restaurants and breakfast spots around the corner. We felt very safe. Would recommend

Location is great! Very clean and front desk staff are very helpful! Rooms are small - the perfect place for anyone who won’t be spending much of the day in their hotel room

Great hotel, staff was friendly and helpful, clean and well furnished room, always kept at just the right temperature. The area isn’t very interesting and there aren’t many great spots around, but it’s very accessible and has quite a few subway lines at only a few minutes walk.

Walked to Times Square. Rode the ACE line downtown to see comedy at the cellar. Also to Chelsea Market and Highline. Went uptown to Hayden Planetarium and spent an afternoon walking central park.
Dinner at Norma's and Sunset Blvd on Broadway.
Concert at pier 17 rooftop.
Breakfast at Gemini diner on 2nd. Nice walk. Blueberry pancakes.

I just loved this place! So charming! Clean and welcoming! Everything walkable : metro stations, restaurants. Such a beautiful area! Parking is so easy to find. I parked my car all week with no problem, since I was using public transportation.

Sometimes I hesitate to write such positive reviews because I want to keep places I enjoyed so much to myself.
But the Hilton Garden Inn West 35th was from start to finish an amazing hotel experience. So it has to be said.
I was warmly greeted by Kim and after a long morning/aft of travelling it was so needed.
My room exceeded my expectations and was spacious and clean and had a view most people would be jealous of. Trust me.
The location of the Hilton Garden Inn cannot be beat. Period....
