Love the location right in town and the place was clean and tidy and well equipped. Loved the coffee and coffee maker and would stay there again in a heartbeat.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this cute historic studio apartment in downtown Sward. It was conveniently located so we could walk to dinner. We would stay here again.
It was fun to say in such a historical property! The location was excellent, being right in the middle of town. The property matched the listing. The property manager was very responsive when a question came up. A
Love the location! Right downtown in the old part of town. Great places to walk and view the Alaskan Wildlife. Apartment is definitely vintage but that adds to the charm of the location. Would stay again.
Good place for one or two people, a bit small and tight with no low sitting areas. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Pics were somewhat accurate and we knew what we were getting. We asked for beds to be put together and they were not, so we didn't move anything. Overall a nice little room within walking distance to food and bars.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
The location is great for access to activities in and around Seward. The property is listed as historic, true, but it is not well maintained. Grime and dust on every horizontal surface, stained kitchen sink and very moldy shower curtain. I had to buy bleach cleaner and clean the shower myself to get rid of the stench. Leaky roof in the hallway, clogged tub and bathroom sink because there are no drain screens to prevent hair clogs.
The location of the property was in the center of what I would call the old part of Seward. Which reminded me of an old western setting. It did make it easy for shopping. The room was cute and nice. Just keep in mind that you will need to carry your suitcase up a flight of stairs. Down a couple of blocks or so is where you would go for any cruises or fishing trips was located.
We loved your apartment. It reminded me of my grandparents home. Warm and homey. It would have been helpful to have a dresser for clothes, a second night table and sponge to wash dishes.

Perfect location. Very Clean.
This beautiful room was perfect for our stay. Perfectly appointed. Very clean unit. We will definitely book this again in the future.
Loved this unique property with lots of charm! Close to everything downtown--Sea Life Center is a definite must. A short (free) shuttle ride to the harbor too if you're doing a whale watching tour. Host was responsive and place was very clean--great beds! There are stairs here, fyi.

Nice location but lacking cleanliness
Pros: This location gives you great access to restaurants and bars in the heart of Seward. Cons: Cleanliness was not up to reasonable standards- for example- stains on the bed spread, large amount of mildew on shower curtain and ceiling above shower which created a smell, sink upon check in contained a food substance and floors were obviously not swept or mopped. Regarding the placement of the television, the TV is not represented as in the photos but sits directly up against one of the beds making it difficult for viewing.
My wife and I kicked off our Alaska trip in Seward and loved our stay in the Brown & Hawkins building. We live in a 1900s farmhouse in Washington and especially adored the character of our apartment. On top of that we enjoyed the fresh coffee beans provided and you can’t beat the location with so much in walking distance! Thank you!
Right in the heart of Downtown Seward. Beautiful, clean and well maintained place. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Walking distance to all the restaurants and the bay. Highly recommend!
It is a cute little place. One thing to note is that the building is old and it’s not updated inside. So the cabinetry and bathroom sink are dated, but if that doesn’t bother you, it’s great. You are smack dab in the middle of Seward so restaurants and shops are right at your door. There was a bit of a snafu in check in, but was rectified quickly. It was a good value and would stay here again.
What a cute apartment in an amazing historical building. It was charming, clean and comfortable. You can't beat the location! It's right on the main strip just above a yummy chocolate and treats shop with restaurants, coffee shops and fun little stores right outside the front door! Close walking distance to the beach area. Honestly, it was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
great property in historical building right smack in the middle of Seward’s old main street : clean comfortable, with responsive management.
