"There is nowhere like Torre di Bellosguardo. It is an incredible experience - of faded grandeur and a lost time. It is very quiet and there is a sense of being disconnected from the contemporary world. The villa and its extraordinary grounds are a work of art, each stairwell opens up to another view, another surprise. Many of the rooms are frescoed. Each gorgeous bedroom is uniquely styled with antique furnishings. The rooms are massive with incredible views over Florence. The bathrooms are beautiful but you have to commit to the fact that nothing quite works to modern standards & part of the sense of relaxation is being taken away from the modern world. The swimming pool set in a beautiful garden has the best views over the city. Its probably my favourite place to stay in the world but I should say that it won't be for everyone - but if you are looking for visual pleasure, a slow pace & the luxury of peace this is for you."
