"Air conditioning was not working so we had to leave the windows open at night to cool off the room. The area was very noisy until late at night and then again early in the morning. Other than that the room itself was comfortable, clean, spacious enough. It was close to all the major sites and restaurants. The staff were wonderful! It was also close to laundry and the train station!"

"We had a great stay at the Essence Hotel. It is in a quieter part of town but still close to everything. The room we stayed in was clean and modern. Most major attractions in Florence were within easy walking distance. We'd be happy to stay here again next time when we come back to visit Tuscany."

"We stayed in the Double Zebra Room and it was honestly one of the most beautifully designed rooms. Super clean, spacious, and full of personality. Breakfast in bed was a lovely touch - arrived right on time and really good. I also loved that they use Officina Profumo toiletries, such a nice detail. Overall, a really special stay in Florence."

"Hotel was really nice, breakfast was excellent, staff was very helpful, close to the tram, room with a nice view from the balcony, laundry facilities onsite was very convenient. One interesting tidbit is that the toilet was inside the shower so after taking a shower, toilet was all wet. Hotel is also in a residential area so dining options are very limited."

"Was a great location, about a 20 minute walk from the train station or a bus stop right in front. Its a huge spiral staircase to get to your floor, which wasn't an issue for us. Didn't hear a thing from inside or outside except for on the last night whoever was above us had their alarm going for an hour straight, but we were getting up shortly anyways. "Vacation for a family of 5. The apartment was nice. The only downside was poor communication. I contacted them per their instructions a week before our arrival with our information and was told we could drop our luggage early. When we arrived in Florence, I sent a message via Whatsapp 30 minutes before getting to the apt. (per their instructions), but never heard back. Arrived at the apt. and sent another message with no response, so found a storage facility, dragged our luggage there, paid 33...

"This is the most under rated property in Florence! request a first floor, Piazza facing apartment and your view is spectacular! Never mind the people watching! Worth every dollar spent. Just know that it is noisy at night until around 1am as it's in a very public piazza but you just need good earplugs or the aircon on to drown that out if it was to bother you. "

"The stay was amazing. Location is great. Although they miscalculated our per person tax. Wasn’t able to give us back the change. We didn’t have time to go to their office located a few blocks from the apartment we stayed at. Overall great. The kitchen is complete with everything you need to cook basic food. There is a fridge and freezer. Could actually bed 6-7 people. Lots of space and has 2 bathrooms for our apartment. Has a nice balcony too. "

"One great restaurant for dinner, no lunch options. Maybe a small snack bar would be great for us without a vehicle. At pre-season mid April. Sadly No gym until later in the season with the pool. Otherwise beautiful and worth the stay!"

"Beautiful hotel! Very clean and spacious room. It was four of us-me, my husband and our two kids (6 and 13 yrs). There was enough area in the room for all of us. It is loft style so there is a bed upstairs and one downstairs. It is right in front of the tram station so if you need to go anywhere just hop on the tram. We walked a lot and it was easy walk to Duomo, Uffizi and other central area. Lot of restaurants near by the hotel. I would definitely stay here again when I am in Florence next time. "
