Easy check in by helpful staff, very comfortable clean room, and dining room on the sixth floor. Menus is limited for dinner but excellent breakfast choices and pleasant staff. Small coffee shop on the ground floor adjacent to reception. A really great feature of the hotel is its location, mid way between the railway station and el Duomo, and all the main sights are within walking distance.
Great hotel and great staff. Very convenient location. Most of the tourist places and good restaurants are close by. Rooms are super clean and comfortable - comparable to a 5 star hotel. Amazing breakfast buffet.
Nice place for shopping around and sightseeing. But the wall of my room was too thin to shut out noise and voice from the next door, which was disappointed and annoying. Of course, it depends on when and which room you stay. If there is no one on either sides, this problem never comes up. And what I would like to add is the hotel staff were completely nice and kind.
We spent our Thanksgiving holiday in Italy and Hotel De La Ville was a great choice. It is a great location, close to all the things a first time tourist and / or a seasoned traveler would want to see. Also the hotel is very close to the train station and only a short ride to the airport.
The staff was remarkably attentive and very nice to us both, I couldn't have asked for more.
I stayed one night in early September. I had a single, which was smaller than an American-style room, but it was a terrific room for just overnight. The bathroom was really large and and very clean. The room looked out onto a beautiful courtyard below. The hotel is a block from the Medici Chapels and a few blocks from the Duomo. I highly recommend this hotel.

Really lovely hotel, staff were very good, breakfast had lots of choice. Only one thing, bed was not as comfortable as I would have liked and the pillow (one one) was very flat so this could be improved.
Everything else was great and the location was ideal.
The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, or Duomo for short, is one of Italy’s largest churches, and tops the list of places to visit in Florence. The impressive Gothic architecture features an ornate exterior, stained glass windows, and a cavernous interior. Two popes are buried here, and three of the buildings are on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
