We were looking for a nive hotel that did not break the bank and this one totally fit the bill. The accommodations were very nice, but what really stood out to me was the staff. They were willing to work with me and my friend to allow us to check in early. The only thing wrong with the room, and this is just a minor thing, you had to sit in just the right area of the room to get the tv remote to work properly.
Better area than the place a little forget down Reseda. Fairly close to CSUN. Only complaint is that the room smelled faintly of cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. Staff was nice, room was reasonably clean. Overall good experience. Would definitely stay there again.
When checking in I was asked twice if I had a reservation. A little frustrating after I answered the first time. I did feel out of place, the hotel was far to ritzy for me. I think high class people go here to stay. I don't fit into that category. I am a middle high individual who is of a certain ethnic group. The cleanliness of the room were better than expected, the pool was amazing as well as the jacuzzi. The housekeeping and bartender were very helpful went beyond their job to assist me and answer questions that I had.
I only have two "wishes" for this hotel. I didn't care for the fact that they share a swimming pool with the Safari Inn across the street because this means that you have to actually walk across the street to use it and this is very inconvenient. The other "wish" is that they would have responded to a maintenance request earlier. Some people actually have to work during their vacation so it was terribly inconvenient that their electrical outlets in the pool area weren't working. I reported this to the desk at the Safari Inn right away and nobody came to check on the outlets for the entire 2.5 hours that were there so I wasn't able to work. I didn't want to leave my daughter in the pool area by herself despite the desk person's suggestion that I just bring my laptop into their lobby and use the outlet there.
Staff was very courteous though. One problem is that they had no clue about restaurants in the general area. She gave me a printed list of restaurants but didn't seem to have any personal knowledge about any of them.
Location is excellent, reasonably priced, great modern and spacious bathroom, comfortable air conditioning and beds, sound proof, nice staff, and food at the Olive Bistro onsite was decent and priced well. I would definitely stay here again.
Simply known as “The Valley,” this sprawling area includes the suburbs of Encino, Northridge, and Van Nuys. But Burbank is the key attraction, as several movie and TV studios are based here. Universal Studios’ theme park combines tourism with the local craft. Griffith Park provides much needed green in a city known for its smog. Nearby, the Burbank airport is an alternative to LAX.
