"We’ve been staying here on and off for more than 10 years when travelling to Toronto for visits to the children’s hospital, so we’ve watched the property change over time. We genuinely like this hotel, which is why it’s hard to see it showing its age.
There are several areas that need attention: peeling wallpaper, loose or falling electrical outlet faceplates (a potential safety concern), stained ceiling tiles, and hallways with a noticeable musty/mouldy smell. Our TV wasn’t working, the bathroom could have been cleaner, and the toilet had a habit of blocking. I saw staff with a plunger on our floor several times—including for our room! 😊
There is still plenty to love. The location is excellent, in a quiet residential area with greenery and city views. The beds are clean and comfortable, the staff are polite and helpful, and the breakfast buffet (extra cost) was tasty. There’s a Tim Hortons nearby, easy access to the 401, reasonable daily parking rates, and both indoor and outdoor pools. The indoor pool, under its beautiful glass dome, remains my daughter’s favourite!
We appreciate the reasonable price, but a good price shouldn’t mean accepting a property with this much wear and tear. With some TLC and maintenance, this hotel could shine again. We have many good memories here, and it would be a shame to see it lose its appeal."
