My wife and I spent a long weekend in Quebec City at the Hotel Clarendon and were very pleased by it.
The room was nicely appointed, if a bit on the small side, with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was also quite nice.
My only complaint is that there was no desk or writing table, but since the hotel doesn’t seem to be geared to business travelers, that is not surprising. Having said that, I did work from the room for a day and the WiFi was quite good.
The Brasserie Les Mordus, attached to the lobby had a very nice breakfast.
Great location. Right in the heart of old Quebec city. We were there around New years eve and there was a Christmas market right across from us. Walking distance to everything, including the New Year's eve party. Hotel room was clean and everything was as expected. The concierge Thomas, was super helpful in finding us a dinner reservation on New year's eve.
My only feedback is that the emails from the hotel were in French. I don't speak French. Perhaps tourists shourd be emailed in Englush as is done in other parts of the world (including France, China, India and other non-English speaking countries). Also they charge a $200 deposit which was not explained anywhere on the receipts. When I questioned this they told me it's standard practice (which it isn't, anywhere else I've been ). Apparantly it will be refunded to me in the next while (but they couldn't give me a time line).
Other than that it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely stay here again!
Business room was small but very nice. Check-in/out was very pleasant. Only a slight language barrier for the valet as English-speaking visitors. Location is prime!
The hotel room was fantastic. The staff was very nice and we enjoyed the hotel restaurant. We like staying on the 6th floor because we love the large oval windows that you can oversee the city. Hands down we will be back.
