Hiked from Boca, beautiful if you are able to do it.
We went to Boca Los Tomales and hiked along a trail that went past some secluded beaches to Los Animas. We continued on the trail about 8 km to another beach where we went inland to see a waterfall. It was a nice hike but it’s not too easy as there are a lot of small hills and the path is quite dusty and uneven. On the way to the waterfall, you’ll see lots of horses. We fed a couple of them apples as we felt bad for them. If you do this hike, bring some carrots or apples for the horses. There are lots of them!
Take the orange bus to Boca de Tomatlan on the corner of Badillio and Constitucion (by the Oxxo). In Boca walk down to the pier and buy a ONE WAY ticket for a water Taxi (90 pesos each) - the first beach they stop at is Las Animas. We spent the day lounging at El Coral Restaurant and bar. They had excellent food and service. When it was time to go back the waiter arranged a ride back to Boca for us for 50 pesos each. The bus from Boca back to PV runs at fairly regular intervals. We enjoyed a cold beer at one of the small beach bars in Boca before we went back to PV.
