"The Handlrey is a very good moderately priced older hotel conveniently located in the heart of the Union Square district. I had a queen bed room that was spacious for an older hotel. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. I also appreciated that the window opened. The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful. Definitely recommended. "

"Nice part of San Francisco. Easy to get to the hotel. Walking distance to the Pier. Very few homeless people on the wharf or around the hotel. WONDERFUL staff - extremely nice, friendly, professional, and very welcoming. The hotel is lovely. The rooms are very nice. And they have a great outdoor area for enjoying several fire pits, music, appetizers and drinks. The service is exceptional. And I love the valet service. A truly pleasant stay when going to San Francisco. I would strongly recommend...

"This hotel met our needs for a clean & quiet place to sleep for 2 nights in the San Francisco area. It was close to the airport and had free parking for our rental car. The beds and pillows were adequate, as was the bathroom. We didn’t try the continental breakfast, as we walked down to Camino Corner for a delicious breakfast both mornings of our stay. If you don’t plan to spend much time at your hotel, I definitely recommend staying here. "

"Recently renovated, this hotel was clean, quiet, comfortable, and everything worked. Basic rooms with fan, radiator, and window that opened for temperature control. Free WiFi, basic free TV channels, no bath, room on the smaller side (but not tiny, still room to move arround). Fruit, iced water, coffee, and a large selection of teas available near the lobby. No daily housekeeping, which suited us fine, but you can ask them to remove rubbish or replace towels if needed. Great location near Union...
