Our review as a Canadian couple in our late 30's, no kids: What we liked: - The beach was fabulous, felt safe and secure to leave items unattended - Small boutique feel, quick walk to the restaurant and beach. Nice atmosphere and well kept. - Monkey sightings outside our door, and other cool wild life on the premise. - Friendly staff, clean rooms. - Locals gather on the beach for picnics on the holiday we were there, which made for a nice atmosphere What we didn't like: - Rooms were a little dated (beds not very comfortable, couch stained, old smart TVs not compatible with streaming apps) - Rooms didn't feel very private. - Rooms didn't feel worth what we paid. - Pool very small and can quickly fill up with 2 - 3 families. Tended to attract families with little ones - Food at the restaurant was good, although dining options are limited and the restaurant expensive (example two desserts and a drink came to $60 CAD). Overall our stay was average. It seems you're really paying for the location/beach access, as opposed to a high end hotel experience that one might expect when paying over $500 CAD a night. Food options are limited aside from the hotel, although there is another restaurant down the beach that we enjoyed. Other meals we bought to store in our room or drove into Playa Del Coco, which is about 15 min away. Highly recommend having your own vehicle if staying here.

Our family used this as our last night stop close to the airport (LIR). It was just a key code to access the property with simple instructions to follow. The property was secure and private. Everything was new and very clean. Since we were traveling it was so nice they provided bathroom amenities, washer and dryer and full kitchen. The shower at this place was amazing and very relaxing. The best part was being given access to the beach club (5 min drive or 20 min walk). We went there and spent time at the beach and swimming in the pool. They offered outdoor showers, rentals of surf/boogie boards lounge chairs, etc.The pool was warm so my kids swam for hours. The offered drinks and a full menu. The staff was very friendly. Overall it was a great location and great stay.

Everything about Casa Chameleon was impeccable. The friendly staff, the complimentary daily breakfast and the clean rooms made the experience even more enjoyable. The property had immaculate views overlooking the ocean and the Catalinas town that is relatively new with condos shops and restaurants and a beautiful beach club. My next trip to Costa Rica, I I’ll be staying here. If you are looking for a relaxed, calm vacation vibe, Casa Chameleon is for you!

Our family just spent a week at the Suitree, which our daughter selected as our base in Costa Rica. We are so glad she did. Staying in such a unique, beautiful property added an additional level of enjoyment to the trip. The property is impeccable. Absolutely stunning and impeccably clean. The attention to detail was outstanding. The treehouses are gorgeous and interesting. Ours also featured a hot tub, which was a lovely place to hang out after dinner. We had selected the full board option, which turned out to be a good choice because the location is very remote. It would be difficult to leave the property for meals. We had to miss some meals while we were out on excursions, and were always sorry to do so, because the food was SO GOOD (although we wished there were more vegan options on the menu). We did not have a car, but had booked excursions with a service who picked us up from the hotel, and we booked two excursions through the hotel, so transportation was included in the price. Drivers from the hotel picked us up and brought us back to the airport. You will not find more attentive, kinder staff anywhere. They were always ready to help and eager to make sure our stay was wonderful. The Suitree is in a very remote location and you have to travel a minimum of 1/2 hour on difficult roads to get pretty much anywhere. This added to the charm and returning to our treehouse after a long day of activities was always such a pleasure. Pura Vida <3
